Introducing our VIP Loyalty Reward Program!

You just described their business model. Make people subscribe by creating FOMO for future rewards.
Sure, but if you pay annually in advance and log in every other day, there's no reason why these rewards shouldn't just be automatic at login. Only reason to speak to an NPC is where a specific reward is character specific, and even then you should be able to "claim" that reward at any time provided you're a VIP when it's made available.

Yep. It is almost like they made an interface that you can open anywhere and it tells you when a reward is unavailable, available, or claimed. As to why we can't just click the available one; who knows...

Like I went into (at length!) in the vip thread in my sig, it REALLY wouldn't take that much to make my friends and me happy and re-vip. And yet, none of us liked the loyalty program at all. It's like they (and probably did) literally tried to give as little as possible, not to mention the whole thing reeking of a (horrible) battlepass.

The boxes should've been every month, not 2-3x/year, and needed better stuff inside. Hell, daily gold rolls alone would've been more than worth it for us, and none of us really got THAT much good stuff from the year. Or rather, we didn't get anything that we would've bought from the store otherwise.

Extra xp/slayer pots just meant we were more likely to play alts, and we mostly just throw a pile of bigbys down for fun. We already have +8 supremes on the characters we care about, so any gold roll tomes were pointless, and none of us really care about cosmetics (again, wouldn't have paid 25pts for any of them).

There were many QoL suggestions suggested, but the devs seem to think anything that speeds up the 500 lives you need is bad.

So if I sign up now do I start at year 1 rewards month 1 or year 2 rewards month 13?
Looks to me like I'll start on year 2 month 14. I'm left wondering if I"m going to get month 1 rewards all the way through to month 10 rewards but what happens when year 3 rolls around? Do I just not get year 2 month 23 and 24 rewards because the year has changed?

My lovely wife and I have been discussing this. . . Mess.

Rewards should be front loaded, if you buy 12 months of VIP, you should get access to ALL the rewards, since you pay up front, you should get the rewards up front.
If you pay Six months, the first time you get the first six rewards, the second you get the next six. Same for Three months...

We like Rabid's suggestion of instead of the mostly useless VIP bags you get a raid reward selection, not necessarily the newest raids.

Having to reclaim the rewards after every TR is. . . annoying, they have the tech in past life feats. Make the cosmetic feats (ALL of them, including HC feats like eyes and footprints) persist thru reincarnation
While I like the idea of front loaded rewards, buy 12 months of VIP get all 12 months of rewards. What happens when people use this and that up front and then request a refund 30 days later?

Requesting a reward is likely to get you banned. So I dont see any issue there

My mistake. I mistyped. It should have said "a refund" not a reward.
It can happen. SSG's pretty solid though when it comes to billing. It's happened before:
"VIP Refund
So today I had an incident and I forgot to cancel my yearly subscription and I’m panicking because I need the money for a trip at the end of the month. I have requested a refunded as well as filed a dispute with explanations on PayPal as well. This way they can process the refund as needed and see the desperation in the matter. Has anyone had any luck with refunds with VIP if you forgot to cancel if you reached out the same day as renewal happened?
UPDATE: I would like to let everyone know they cancelled the subscription and refunded. My account also was not banned due to the dispute since I used the purchase mistake dispute. They emailed me back from the ticket and just used the dispute to process the refund.

Thing is if it happens with 12 months of rewards up front it could be a real mess, especially if they used a few things like the Mirror of Glamering from the VIP Bag of Many Things.
Maybe with their Bonus Character Slot they create a new character & use the Bonus +500 DDO Points to buy a few Slayer and XP pots to level to 20 and then use the Heroic True Heart of Wood from the Greater VIP Bag of Many Things for Heroic Reincarnation. Along the way while
VIP Discovery Boost is active he gets some named loot and does some crafting benefiting from VIP Artisan’s Advantage and gains a bunch of crafting levels.

A week passes, he decides he no longer wants the 12 months of VIP nor the up front rewards he already used and requests a refund just like the gentlemen above. It'd be a **** show and probably why it'll never happen.

Frontload the mount and electric trail unlocks if someone buys a year of VIP from the store. That'd get me to toss down the money today rather than make me wait 6 and 12 months for them.
Hands down. Money up front, rewards should be up front.
