This is hilarious PR. No one wants the teacher pointing out the kids with the A+ y'know? A better way to do this would have been to announce "Lamannia opens for the public on Tuesday!". Then, below the general announcement, have the early creator access & blurb as a component.

UPDATE: Lamannia is now open for the creator preview!

We are preparing to host our second Lamannia preview of Update 81 starting around 10:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT) on Tuesday, July 7th. This preview will be your first look at the upcoming wilderness area!

We are preparing for a special exclusive invitation-only preview next Monday, July 6th, starting at 4pm Eastern (-4 GMT) on Lamannia to give selected participants a first look at the Terror of Demogorgon wilderness area.

I beg you: don't quote the first and only 2 sentences of a post that is otherwise entirely dedicated to a creator preview and think you did something. First "few" sentences is doing a lot of work there in your reply.

You: "A better way to do this would have been to announce "Lamannia opens for the public on Tuesday!". Then, below the general announcement, have the early creator access & blurb as a component."
Me: *shows you that it is already done this way and you can't read*
You: *a reply about as useless as your first post in this thread*

Thanks for coming out.

Then, below the general announcement, have the early creator access & blurb as a component. Why focus on the creator early access and not the general public access in the announcement? Creator early access is very normal and acceptable, but the presentation was like almost designed to say "we're giving creators special treatment!!". Which again, is fine, but I don't understand talking up the 'exclusive' nature of the one day preview so much?

I'm assuming the phrasing of the announcement was intended to throw creators a bone & push views to livestreams the day of and maybe longform videos if they get it out same-day?
"Component" + bolded for reading comprehension. Thanks for coming out as well!

There are missed Under standings -
( - in all this.) The act of less and less proofreading, the slack of correction in diction and omission, causes misdirection and possible confusion.

Two points of clarity that are intersecting at different spectrums....
Two are correct and two are far apart from each other....An Invitation to Dinner

Is it possible to have a Sandboxed "Weekend Lamania" preview:

  • Regular Lamania rules are done during normal uptime. Wed-Thu.
  • Weekend Lamania no Character changes can be made at this time and only instanced players (Pack/Unpack rules) can test out Explorer/Dungeons/Changes-Updates.

It seems this would help many that don't have the ability to Play during the work week and still be able to participate in "trying out" the new changes/Updates.

Grant it it would not be on equal paving to regular Lamania Preview but it would allow those who:

1. Were available to try out during the week an extended window, but with locked Character changes (Sandboxed, alleviates, if having Normal Preview requires someone being on premise to administer. )

2. Gives more interactions since it would include a larger player base to try out an otherwise inaccessible Time Window, when regular Lamania is open.
💯

I didn't see the original post so I don't know if this was already included or not, but []

Yes, Please read the conversation from the start. Please.

Don't derail this thread. IMHO, it's an important discussion to have.

There is a critical bit missing from the announcement as well, sorry I didn't catch that yesterday: We are opening Lamannia to everyone around 10:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT) on Tuesday, July 7th for this same preview. Close timing will be something like Thursday, and we'll have more information and release notes next week.

You might have missed this which explains why you aren't on the same page. The point you are complaining about prompted Cordovan to fix the original post.

Timing is everything.

So the original post didn't include the part about Lamannia being open to everyone until after the concern was raised. It's a bad enough error on your part that you probably owe him an apology, it's always good to see if people man up when appropriate.

I did miss the part you're referring to, which I said I may have missed in my first post in this thread, so that's been addressed.

Also, Screenplay's response/complaint was long after Cordovan had made the edit to include that it was open to the public on Tuesday, and seems to be more about the title of the announcement, so might need to try again on that piece.

It's a great sentiment about people being willing/motivated to own up then apologise to others. But who does that? Look at your favourite online newspaper, see who figures on the front page, think about the same context.

Having said that, I do agree with the notion that Cordovan receives a lot of flack, SSG in general the same. What is deserved is deserved, what is not deserved is forgotten, except in certain cases by Cordovan I guess. Being honest with yourself can be a very hard nut to crack for a lot of people.
