Is Demogorgon the best pack

I think Demogorgon is great. Ran RL today and not sure which is better. what do you think?

I think its still too early to tell. We don't have the demogorgon raid(s) yet, while Mists of Ravenloft has two!

Also, the explorer area in Barovia is huge. While DarkLake is okay in size, its pale in hugeness and concentration when comparing to Barovia explorer area.

Also, there's no auto teleport to quest entrance. I know some of us like that.

I think I liked Ravenloft more at the time it came out , because it was such an awesome experience, but this is pretty much in the top two.

RL is tough to beat, but Demogorgon is doing a fine job so far and I am pretty pleased with it.

Saltmarsh if they fixed the dungeon XP would probably be 2nd for me behind Ravenloft. Orchard only has 3 quests but the best slayer zone by far. MD quests have slowly grown on me over time, but a couple of them are annoying. Lamordia has a couple of brilliant quests but also a couple that are just plain annoying.

* and yes, I know Orchard has 4, but we skip 1 every life because its not needed and requires us having to think

Also, I havent bought the new pack (or any pack in years - points buy only people, dont give them your cash !!!) so cant place it on the list yet. Feb or March next year though, I assume.

They are both great. Ravenloft was kind of unique as it followed a dry period for expansions and was shortly after reaper was introduced - so it had an extra shiny feeling at the time.

Raid is yet to come but I'm optimistic. It's certainly excellent for leveling gear and I like the endgame stuff. Quests are fun and everything is pretty.

Oozing Hunger weapons are unironically amazing: Basically every single character who is level 35 should make one, because they're raid tier equipment that's easily farmable by doing a single saga run.

They're an excellent kick-off point to pivot into actual raiding, since Lingering Acid Burn + good damage dice is basically all you need to contribute something to DPS.

the Jubilex orb farming is infinitely less awful than Vecna's Corrupted Weaponry, so it's actually accessible.

I've enjoyed Demogorgon, Ravenloft not so much never liked Ravenloft even when it 1st came out in.PnP I'm not in to loot farming

I don't know if I'd be so quick to call it the best because I don't think I have a static opinion about what content is my favorite- heroic vs. epic/legendary, my build, and what I'm hoping to get from the pack all significantly impact what I would choose to run and how I compare packs, and it's definitely too early for me to weigh in too much on Demogorgon as it relates to other packs.

I will say that I have enjoyed Demogorgon a lot, there's nothing from Demogorgon that I would point out as "bad" (though there are some parts I enjoy less), and that I think it has some of the best environmental design in a long time- far better from a technical/aesthetic standpoint than Ravenloft in my opinion. But at the same time it's not perfect, and there is probably a bit of "new and fresh" vs. "old and familiar" going on too- I'll probably have different feelings about Demogorgon when it's almost ten years old too.
