Is it too much to ask people to not spam post multiple threads on the same topic?

No, I think it’s a good way for the devs to get fresh reminders of how the forum feels. Also there is a lot of anger and resentment attached to this topic already. Devs haven’t really addressed the problem since Myth Drannor was released, and have remained almost completely silent on the topic.

The fact that they released this new xpack without discussing loot, and have only told us to wait “2-5 days” means that the anger and resentment is getting a lot closer to the surface. Adding ransack reset potions - and saying that they want to sell them in the store - puts a lot of people one bad message away from skipping the xpack or leaving DDO altogether.

Not commenting - and then deleting threads - will probably not be received well.

Way to add one ! Let’s get the whole front page on it!

It’s true though that having half the recent topics on one subject is just extremely annoying to have to navigate.

Pick an existing thread and add to it. The people spamming threads on a single topic aren’t doing themselves or the forum favors in the process.

Ask yourself how annoying it would be if I had started another thread to complain about forum spamming instead of replying to this one. And then somebody else had done the same. And then I’d come back from a slightly different angle to make the same point in yet another thread?

It lets the community and developers know what is on the people's mind. One thread with 1000 responses can be the same handful of people comment back and forth on something that is almost off-topic now. 10 threads on the same topic tells everyone that this is the big issue of the day. It happened when the 64-bit servers were announced, and it happened with the expansion (most specifically because many people cannot make a decision of whether to buy without knowing the rare loot situation).

No, it's not a good idea. You can have one long thread. It's actually against the rules of the forum to spam topics.

OP's actually correct, that spamming the forum with multiple threads on the same theme and specifically a copy-paste of the same content (virtually), will only get you ignored (if not thread deleted) and then you annoy the other forumers who are basically going about their daily forum use.

It's the same thing with the brigading that server performed a while back, hoping to get as many LFM's as possible to "bring to attention" the plight of their fellow guildie/friend that had issues in DDO by making LFM use near impossible, but all they did in the end was annoy the gaming population on their server, even the ones sympathetic to their plight. Especially when it never stopped. Basically people grew tired of it and just switched off instead.

If you want to always be taken noticed of, be better.

That brigading changed from so many LFM's that had nothing to do with grouping, to one or two (one at cap and one at start), more took notice at that point.

I mean you are talking about the LFMs, which makes them seem like they worked. Noone knows how much to spend on advertising, but you do have to advertise. I think protesting is mainly meant to annoy.

Not when you can simply be ignored.

And then you're fighting on two fronts, and losing on both sides.

You obviously can do nothing hence whyou are are protesting, so you need the help of "someone" to make their addition to the situation to help change how things are. But if all you do is get ignored, then nothing will change because the ones that could do something about it, has just switched off instead.

Since I encouraged this one i suspect it wouldn’t annoy me at all.

Nine? Nein?

So... what you're saying is, I need to spam MM threads as well, not just spam inside other people's threads? Yes?

I get the point. But surely spamming is one person posting multiple threads? I don't think that is happening here. It's different folks having their say. On what is a pretty hot topic, driven as it is by the recent pre purchase release.

Same as the plethora of transfer threads right now. It's a reflection of folks current concerns.

So, yeah I sympathise with the perspective here, and a single thread would be ideal. Not really gonna happen though.

Where it's the same person posting multiple threads then Cordo should step in and sort it. But that's not what I'm seeing here, and it's not spamming.
