So @Livmo suggests using DDO Audit, you throw a paddyfit because he suggested a “third party website”, but you are fine with connecting on discord, which is… a “third party website” to find parties to quest in.

But let’s look at your current post of, you are leaving. This is something you’ve done periodically before though.

Your post in 2013 with “so long DDO”. This is followed by your post in 2016 with another farewell to DDO. . That departure didn’t last long as you were doing some sort of build in 2021.

If this is a game you loved so much, then why spend 4 years away playing WOW or something else?

Most servers are a wasteland because of the free transfers in 2023. People wanted to leave to join their friends, a lot of friendships were made during hardcore seasons.

Best of luck to you. SSG's plan is to provide new 64-bit servers that players can transfer to - presumably for free. The bits and pieces we heard - this would include things like astral shards, guilds. etc. So hopefully the opportunity will come soon. Definitely at least keep an eye on things.

Cormyr seems less active than Sarlona to me. I play on Cormyr a small amount and I am just grouping with people I know aside from a few raids.

As for Sarlona being dead 8 years ago - that wasn't the case. Reaper and racial past lifes were introduced at that time and grouping was very easy. There were issues for people wanting level above R1 and people wanting to push skulls at end game as most people were working on racial lifes, but that is a first-world problem. The only reason I can think anyone would move to Khyber is for high-end push raiding as Sarlona is a casual-ish server and there are great players, but they aren't so focused on trying to get R10 raid completions.
I can only mention what the player I interviewed stated. If that wasn't true, then that is for them to address. They stated that as the reason, and that is what I quoted. It does seem to be them largely expressing frustration that it's happening again so it carries their own personal bias. I am not saying their name, but that is for them to comment on if they see this and choose to.

There was a free move 2-3 years ago. A ton of people moved to Argo and Orien. If you want to play move to one of those.
I wasn't playing during that time. I will be exploring after this post if that's still an option - thank you.

To end this thread, as I have no intention of replying or reading future comments: I'm putting my money where my mouth is. I joined the discord, I'm going to use all of the tools available to me to get groups going and I'm going to do my part to make that change. I posted in the portable hole that I will now be planning out my DDO sessions and posting them there, so that people can be aware and join me. All of my LFMs will be patient, and beginner friendly. All that I ask is that people that join me read my postings, be polite, and be ready for silliness. I'm weird and loud and I don't apologize for that. But you bet your bottom dollar I want new and returning players to feel at home, and feel comfortable in my groups. I'm committed to making positive change, no matter what emotions I express. Have a great day, fam.

bruh what how did you find my old forum posts when even I can't?
People grow and change. I can still love something I've spent time away from. That's my point, I went away, I experienced something better, and I came back and was disappointed. I don't apologize for how emotional I am, I only commit to being better. That's literally what I have expressed coming back asking of the community and devs.
I don't remember posting those, I admit. I'm also not going back to read that. I have grown as a person, that is what we do. All I believe this does is find creative ways to say "oh but ur bad too" like I don't know what I've been like in the past. I recognized what I didn't like, and I changed. That is what I expect.
I'm not okay with needing to use discord. I don't want to have to use it. You can't ask me to use something then call me a hypocrite for using it. I'm not a black and white person, there are shades of grey to everything. I'm aware of context. I've also made it pretty clear that this is the result of a week of frustration coming back. How do you expect me to stay around, when this is what I come back to? Why are you giving me crap for not spending 15 straight years playing one game and not taking breaks? Aren't we told that breaks are healthy, especially when MMOs are known to be addictive to certain types of people? I really don't appreciate this dredging up of my past to try to paint me in a bad light. I acknowledge who I am and who I've been and why I say what I do. I do care about this game, but when I come back after a four year break to the conditions being even worse than when I left? I don't get the vibe that the people making and playing it care either. Thank you.

I demand better of people and products I pay for, because I expect them to demand that of me.

Are you in a guild? If you aren’t or it it isn’t active, look to join one of the larger and more active guilds. Lots of people only play with guildies.

I’m on Khyber and would happily run with you.

There are rude people everywhere but the vast majority on Khyber are friendly.

Khyber favours private grouping more, and I feel like you will have more success at endgame grouping than you would when levelling. I have seen R6 MA raid pug and public 20-34 R10 groups, which I don't ever find on other servers, at least from my experience. If you want a good chance at finding more LFMs, I think Orien would probably be fitting for your playstyle.

I've had enough people reach out to me that I will be trying to make it work on Khyber. I really appreciate the applicable advice and the intent behind everyone's words and input, no matter if I agree or not. At least you all care enough to be frustrated by it. Thanks - I have gotten a lot of valuable input and feedback from this thread. If I could lock it, I would.
