Lag has allways been a part of ddo it was something that was annoying at first but I eventually grew accustomed to
Sometimes it was a bit of lag othertimes it was pretty harsh and some Nights barely playable
and at the end of the day we just Kinda called it a day if the lags became too nasty and just played something else
Or i would do some quests at another time

I really enjoyed the MD quests arguably my favorite first stroll across all expansions the increase in difficulty when Running r10s Was also a great fresh Gust of wind
unfortunately the way Loot was handled was extremely depressing but u know what? i eventually Just said : Im happy with my current gear and if i get lucky to randomly have a rare drop Im just gonna enjoy it and not actively search for it"
then the raid came Which Lacked virtually any Kind of real Nuance and is simply an ages Long beatdown but I thought whatever I kinda accepted to stay on my old gear anyway so whatever Im just not gonna run it

What im trying to say is : I was Okay with a lot of things because DDO gave me that certain something no other game could I allways just looked at it as a "trade off"

But now? Im just exhausted its not sometimes anymore its nearly allways I cant laugh about lags anymore because they create singular funny incidences

in the past weeks Every single Log in was a dissapointment of instantly closing the game again when I could barely enter a quest or horrendous freezes causing me to do something else

This is the current DDO experience not sometimes But virtually allways

Im gonna quit/uninstall the game till New year if theres no improvement Im gonna quit entirely its a pity but All Joy has gone Missing

64 Bit wont be a solution for me either Unless I play with a constant 150MS due to Murica servers as european

I'm right there with ya. As soon as that raid finished up I cancelled my subscription and uninstalled the game.

If/When Cormyr or other 64 bit servers come up that allow transfers, I may come back to check it out. There just isn't any enjoyment in this game anymore for me. No part of me wants to spend my limited free time trying to play a game where I have to intim 5+ times just for it to register. Or on my main, playing an Imbue Inquis at the moment, and 80% of my bolts disappear into the void.

I've only been playing 3 years now, and it has only gotten worse since I first started, like considerably worse. It is quite an embarrassment that this product is still being offered to customers.

Dev's, I really hope you do something for the players that can put up with this. As of right now, you've done far too little, and way too late.

I stand with Knall and Noddy, my sub has been cancelled and will move on unless something significant is done.
My sub ends on December the 20th.

This said, I will give this Cormyr server a go.

After all, I'm in this hate/love relationship with DDO. Might as well give it one last go before the big breakup.

I too will give the 64 bit a try whenever they allow transfers, but I don't think I can ever come back fully. Break free from the Stockholm we all had/have. There are several better performing games out there. :p

I'm in the same boat. I've been around since the beginning. Been paying a subscription for most of that time (also buying stupid **** (omg, again with the safe space censorship. Ok, crap, turds, feces, excrement, how's that?) from the DDO store and the GROSSLY overpriced expansions, far more than ANY other game I know, even for top tier bundles). I'm sick and tired from being frustrated and annoyed (and sometimes even angry) while playing a game that I PAY FOR that is supposed to be fun. Who the hell pays to be annoyed at this level. I mean, I get annoyed at work, but they pay ME to be there, so that's a normalized trade off. The fact that so many customers have normalized the lack of playability and lack of transparency and communication from SSG is, frankly, quite sad. I've been a part of that mindset (past tense). I'm tired of paying for a broken product. My 3 month sub ends in December. If I don't see some impressive improvements (I'm not expecting perfection, just big improvements) in gameplay and communication by then, I'm gone.

To the loyalists laughing at this while saying 'Bye Felicia' and pretending not to care: you should care. If enough of us get fed up and leave, you won't have a game to continue playing. DDO doesn't have a playerbase large enough to survive a hemorrhage of paying customers.

One of the few people to vote for Myth Drannor as "very favorably" taking a break.

I hope everything is better in January. SSG has no choice but to make that so - so I think they will manage to do it.

Ran Hunt raid last night with terrible lag that would normally result in a full wipe - didn't have a healer with jibbers + party raise as we usually do. We somehow managed to finish the raid - I think the only reason is because it lagged so bad the souls didn't do their thing.

Happy trails.

What manner of SSG habits that could create such indescribeable laggish situation?

SSG dont seem to care about the critical state of the game and the critical state of the lack of goodwill the playerbase is having atm.

SSG seems so relax and really taking their time to test their new server for at least a few months.

Wonder how many players are left after they are done testing their new OP Cormyr server?

I'd be really curious what SSG's numbers on Epic Destinies were during the 64-bit test?

It seems to me that the current lag situation for soloists got worse when the ED pass was made.

Odds are good that SSG has numbers on the ED auras, builders and finishers. How much does that process affect game play?

Probably more players than if they just began forming mega-servers haphazardly without see what the effects would be. The players already haphazardly formed a mega-server on Orien and look what happened there.

The worst case scenario right now is that the 64-bit servers don't significantly improve game play in which case none of this really matters anyway.

The alternate worst case is that after 6 months of testing SSG does not believe that transferring heavily developed characters is likely to give those players relief from the lag they currently experience.

For me the difference is that in scenario one more players leave the game and the endgame population continues to shrink. In scenario two the players who need DDO will be stuck with staying on the 32-bit servers or abandoning them for a fresh start.

The key thing here from my point of view is that SSG get the process right to limit the FUD in the mix for the player base. An event server seems like a good start, as long as it is going to stay up after the event. An event gives players on established servers the chance to test the waters and see what the new reality offers.

The FUD is going to be heavy no matter what. There are players heavily invested in the current paradigm who are going to be vehemently opposed right up until the moment they see the opportunity to transition to a 64-bit server. The Cormyr launch is likely to break some smaller guilds as people leave for the event.
