Just a personal rant about the forced server transfer

I was excited about the new expansion, but then I found out I was being forced into another server. I personally enjoyed wayfinder, no lag, always worked how I wanted. Now on shadowdale, I face skips so bad chests won’t loot, bank takes mins to never to load, can’t craft cause the game can’t see my bank.

Also it’s definitely not my connection, I played for a few days on wayfinder, and I also ran ping google.com while playing 10ms ping no packet lose while playing for 30 mins, but super lag. I mean right now I’m sitting at the bank 10 am and the bank doesn’t work.

Good thing I only subbed for a month and didn’t pre order the expansion.

We were told this would very likely be the case. The game is not playable right now some of the time. Come back in a few days or a week and see how it goes then. If it's still a sshow, then yeah, lots of people will be leaving. That's just the reality of it. I expect it's going to be ok, at least on the game functioning better than it is right now.

Come to Cormyr. The flagship of 64 bit servers, since Nov 2024.
No one forced you to go SD, you have 4 choices.
The transfer process is still underway. Until it's finished and all the kinks are worked out, as per Cordovan, "expect periods of performance issues"

If you liked Wayfinder for its near to minimal population, you will be able to find the same on Cormyr, it will be the most empty and least populated of all the servers.

Great place for soloers!!

how wrong you are, you have a negative view of almost everything about cormyr since you milked favor (nothing wrong with that, even it's the SLOW way to get it)

Now all the unhappy Paying Customers © will leave the game due to their so called "personal playgrounds" would be closed, and SSG will have even less money to maintain the rest of the servers... Expect the expansions prices jump up to x3 times compared to the current ones.

I started on Xoriat server. One day I logged on, and POOF* I was on Thelanis way out in ocean & had to swim for a few minutes to reach harbor.
THAT was forced, you were given an option, sorry of you chose the wrong* one

Note regarding my post, it is full of positivity for soloers! If you solo and want the most lag free enviroment, Cormyr is definitely the place, the lack of activity on that server will provide an excellent platform to solo on.

No negative nellies here, just positive francis’s. 👍🏻👍🏻😁

As a guild leader Lagin, who i heard is part of the guild alliance on Cormyr, you say I am wrong, where is your evidence that Cormyr isnt the most empty server of the new servers. Its great that you have such postive ideals, but i think you are dreaming if you think Cormyr isnt the new Wayfinder.

None of the servers are the new wayfinder. The lowest server population will have at least double what the old servers had in peak hours. Cormyr may end up the lowest of the 4, but nowhere near wayfinder.

That is possibly true, as for now SSG has made Cormyr the default server for new players so that should help some.

I was on the server to help a few friends get some of the first time favor DDO points on their FTP and premium accounts. As there are a few VIP players in our guild that make a concerted effort to help our non paying members to get things for free. Whilst ding this on the cormyr server we saw 3 lfm’s at most during the one day we did this, one was a person at cap running elites, and the remaining lfm’s that were posted during the day were quests being run on normal. Not a great outlook for the server.

SSG has said they will be opening new server free transfers after the August 31st deadline, i would suggest we will see alot of lantern event population moving off of cormyr at that point.

But of course we can all speculate on what will be, lets just a wait and see.

Curious though, if you are good at tracking things such as server population. Do you have a stat on the average daily activity on wayfinder for the last year prior to new servers. I would love to be able to do a comparison of that number with the dily activity on Cormyr after the free new server transfers are available.

In relative population to other servers, pretty sure i am pinning Cormyr correctly as the least active of the bunch similar to wayfinder. But in total population Cormyr could potentially be more active than wayfinder.

If you move from an old apartment to a big good new house with good location, not everything will be in his rigth place, it will take a little time to settle everything. Thas how i see it. Try to have some patience.

I remember that. I didnt realize my toon was transferred. I just started another. I got them all transferred to the same server now.
