The game has been on a downhill slope for quite sometime but it still has remained fun to play in many aspects. As the fun gets sucked out of the game for many in different playstyles and different aspects of the game we will have dwindling log ins and player base.

Spending levels will follow, i was of the mindset that as long as the game played well people would still spend on acquiring gear, but when the gameplay is so slow with lag freezes and such, those spenders will be gone too.

The new repeater/inquisitor nerfs are going to hit a mass of players that have relied on their fun levels for not months or a few years but more than a decade, those players will likely log less(maybe not at all) and will be so distraught that their spending will stop.

I would hazard to say this game has already entered maintenanc mode, the 64 bit server will fail as there just wont be enough players engaged there to make it worth while as a thought going forward. I have to say it wasnt very smart of SSG to announce the upcoming repeater/inquistive nerf prior to the new cormyr server, they should have suckedus all in first then nailed us to the wall a week or two in, now i wont be going, my boyfriend wont be going and likely a whole group of folks wont be there as well. Even with your goals in mind SSG, the person that decided on your end that this info should be released prior to the server/event will have cost you a lot in value as far as dollars/population/traction, might want to think about a change in staff on that one.

I am not going to quit the game just a lot less of everything, i have already started prepping my servers and alts for when my vip renewal comes up and i will not be renewing. The recent lagginess has been pushing the envelope of being unacceptable, and the apparent upcoming hammer nerf turning repeaters/inquisitive into firing rates equivalent to bows is the nail. In another thread i asked about the rate of fire on live versus test server for these, people didnt even bother to give a shots per minute answer, they just said clunk clunk clunk and its very slow and unplayable.

Enjoy the game as much as you can but dont let it rule your world, if it is giving you less joy play it less often. Dont let your emotions or anger trick you into a “I will show them and beat them attitude”, you will be far happier playing less and letting things go.

There is nothing wrong with the game. I believe coporate decisions taken during COVID20202 eventually knockedout the entire gaming system

2 things.

first off people are shouting cause they love the game and are trying to save it.

2nd off - if everyone quits until the 64 bit servers are up - then their responses is just gonna be to shut down the game... which would solve the lag problem

I am unaware of these big corporate decisions, if it cant be posted atleast pm me so i have a clue as to what you are referring to?
At the risk of being banned by SSG THIS is what I think happened:
1. COVID2020. SSG make a corporate decision to make the entire game F2P
2. in return gamers display huge amounts of goodwill by buying potions etc from the DDOStore
3. SSG executives note the massive upsurge in purchases etc from the DDOStore and realize...they can generate much more revenue from selling DDOStore whilst keeping the entire game F2P
4. The SSG Executives decide to publish freebie codes pretty much giving the gamers free access to the entire gaming system
5. As predicted potions etc are selling like hotcakes and the risk SSG executives took is paying off

As a result of this total number of digital assets (ie augments etc ) gained by gamers between Jan 2020 and Dec 2022 was greater than the previous years combined and...the system broke unable to cope with the massive demands being places on it resulting in LAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGG. Servers that were supposed to be replaced by 2026 suddenly needed replacing by early 2023. Hence the problems of the COVID2020 SSG strategy bit them in the *ss HARD. I personally knew SSG had BIG problems when I tried playing HC in 2023 and noticed...severe lag. In HC. SSGs premier product offering by 2023.

If I am right the ONLY possible solution is to allow ONLY new accounts on Cormyr whilst reverting back to the pre2020 model and...leaving the 32bit servers to continue struggling until everyone has moved over to the 64bit

Lol and i thought you were going to say that the free code(and 99 point x-pac purchases) allowed for too many people to set up multibox accounts, that in essence basically killed the group aspect of the game.

If they were smart they would advertise a very encouraging incentive to be vip and join the new server, its not going to change my mind as i am all but done with any investment in game due to the repeater playstyle turning into the bow playstyle i ln heroics.

BUT…..

If you really wanted to gain VIP subs, it would be easy at very little cost to SSG, make an ingame adjustment only available to VIP on the new Cormyr server, the incentive adjustment is simple and easy to make happen, give a +20% loot drop on all chests (random and named and rare).

Take note SSG, thats how you incentivize something, one and done field of dreams, if you build it they will come.

From a programming perspective the ability to access paywall protected dungeons etc is merely a switch and contributes nothing to game overheads. However the more digital assets one gamer obtains the more system stress that creates

Do we have any reason to believe that transfers will work? Will we still lose all our astral shards, shared bank, etc.? Changing servers isn't a serious option given all the problems they have with server transfers. I'd love to be on a 64-bit server, but I'm guessing that will never happen.

Is that the secret to the permadeath guild? Inquisitive/repeater builds? Metas change so I would just play something else.

It probably helps that I have been playing the most badly nerfed class (warlock) for a decade. By choosing to stick with the weakest class it makes my standards for my own power much more reasonable. Who knows how powerful I could be if I played a better class.

Which is a form of being triggered. You don't get to shout down what people think and say unless you are the owner of the medium for which they are saying it (and even if you are, it's pretty terrible). Say what you like, but understand you are indeed quite triggered by what another person has said to the point that you believe they shouldn't be allowed to say it for some reason.
All i got out of this is you don't understand what triggered means. And I get to shout down whoever and say whatever I feel like, at least until my posts get moderated. But I know the things I should and shouldn't post about, which appears to be beyond your ability to grasp.

Part of the process to getting 64-bit servers is people testing Cormyr live. By your reasoning if no one plays then the testing will take longer.
IMO I would like to play more to help speed up the process.
