If there isn't a protocol in place already, for instances like this - new servers and HC servers - when people who can show that their main, or one of their active toons, has had their name taken...Cordovan ought to fix it so "we" get our long-held names.Within 10 minutes of Cormyr opening, someone took "Jeheira", a name I've had since 2006.
When the servers open, I assume that person gets the "-1" on their name?
Hope so. I've had this name active since 2006. Shouldn't be a problem then.If there isn't a protocol in place already, for instances like this - new servers and HC servers - when people who can show that their main, or one of their active toons, has had their name taken...Cordovan ought to fix it so "we" get our long-held names.
That said, if one of your alts hasn't been played and someone grabs the name, so be it. But not for a main character name.

Don't really care about names honestly. All of my names were taken by the time I got to Cormyr. So I reserved some other ones that I like better anyway. Shrug. I'm a pretty unliked person, so I just sort of expect it and have learned to enjoy it lol. At this point I'd be irritated if people hadn't taken my name.Hope so. I've had this name active since 2006. Thanks for feedback.
Who do you think took your names?Don't really care about names honestly. All of my names were taken by the time I got to Cormyr. So I reserved some other ones that I like better anyway. Shrug. If I don't care that someone took them, why would I care who took them?Who do you think took your names?
This is a bit strong, but I agree with you. DDO players need to grow up and be adults. If you don't like a product then move onto one you like. I love DDO and have no future plans of ever leaving it.I don't understand why this is so difficult to understand.
Or maybe ya'll are so addicted you can't do it.
But the logical solution, rather than constantly whining and making the devs even more stressed than they are now, is to just..
Quit !
Quit until they bring on the 3 64-bit megaservers and we can all transfer there.
You want their attention?
Then Quit !
You want faster service, 64-bit servers to come online faster?
Then Quit !
Easy answer to this; why ya'll won't do it is very worrying (debilitating addiction).
Predatory and illegal? That is a joke, correct?On topic . . .
This game is trash right now. It barely runs 3-4 days after a reboot. I'm not even going to get into the predatory and possibly not legal in the EU loot practices.
If they don't get this corrected instead of updating code they'll need to update their resumes.
The part I find odd is quitting, or claiming to have quit, and still spend time complaining of the forums. There are plenty of games I have quit. I did not announce it on the forums nor continue to engage in discussions on those forums. This is a bit strong, but I agree with you. DDO players need to grow up and be adults. mouse cursor centered on the reroll button is just 1 example.Predatory and illegal? That is a joke, correct?
Is there no sense of personal responsibility in the world anymore.mouse cursor centered on the reroll button is just 1 example.
there are many more

I know when I complain about stuff on the forums/reddit/discord for a game, it means I'm still engaged and want the game to function in a way where I'll want to play it (hope remains that things will change). If I go radio silent then I'm just done with a game entirely. Venting & frustration shows emotional interest in the game still, pure apathy just means the game has lost any remaining appeal. I have a guildy who logged off in the middle of laggy saga a few months ago and hasn't logged back in; we did verify they didn't have some medical issue or something horrible come up (I was concerned), they just simply hit their breaking point and stopped playing. The part I find odd is quitting, or claiming to have quit, and still spend time complaining of the forums. I hear ya.Im Jaheira and so is my wife.
There are a heap of servers. If you had the name on every server then maybe you'd have a point. But if you dont, its possible someone who uses that name on a different server chose it.
My comment was about people claiming they stopped playing the game but continue to comment. Complaining without the 'I stopped playing' is a valid way to let developers know what the player base is interested in, although the tone of the complaints could often be better.I know when I complain about stuff on the forums/reddit/discord for a game, it means I'm still engaged and want the game to function in a way where I'll want to play it (hope remains that things will change).
