I've done my 3 racial lives and I'm going to tr again. My past life feats only show 2 racial lives so do I need to do a racial tr again (which will be my fourth racial tr heart) or will I get the third life from a normal Heroic TR? I don't want to have to repeat another Duergar life lol.

If you see Duergar (obtained 2x) and not Duergar (obtained 3x) in the feat list then you need to do another racial TR. I'm not sure why you'd only have 2x if you've done 3x of them; outside one of them bugging, you having used a heroic instead of racial heart one time by mistake, or some other issue.

Sounds like you are on your 3rd racial life now, showing previous 2x in your feat list. You wont see the 3x for that race until after you TR a 3rd time.

I had this same question but went with a racial heart to be sure. Sitting on two wood hearts because I thought I would be slick and buy a few at one time but had the wrong heart selected. Needs to be a racial heart and the rest of the post was just self flagellation.

If you currently have 2x past life feats, you need to do a 3rd racial TR using the racial heart. You don't get the past life by hitting 20. You get the past life when you exit your current life via a heart (and the past life is based off what you were on when exited it and what type heart was used to exit).

Correct. It's the exit from your current life that matters. What you become next doesn't factor into anything.

How is this:

Step 1: Level to 20

Step 2: Decide if you want a racial or heroic past life

Step 3: TR, using a heart of blood for racial past life or heart of wood for heroic (class) past life

Step 4: Finish the TR (actually hitting the reincarnate button on the character select screen)

**Note** Once you have initiated step 4 you have the past life you selected when you used the heart in Step 3

Step 5: Start a new character life as whatever race/class you want (if you want another racial past life choose the appropriate race, if you want a class past life choose the appropriate class)

Step 6: Go to Step 1

You are on your third life and so have 2 past lives

You need to have 3 past lives
