It is always a pleasure to read your build updates Kali!
Thanks! :)

I am curious to know if any of these characters were originally from HCL?
They are not really. I've been around since 2006, though originally in the European servers. Back then TRs did not exist, and I had already started creating my stable of characters with the classes I enjoyed playing the most. I got moved to the servers here around 2009, and since then I carried on enjoying playing alts vs the grind of one character becoming completionist.

A curiosity about me: my alts started off as several mules, and as my loot hoard increased over the years, each mule started holding one specific type of weapon. I went from there, and ended up actually 'tying' each alt (apart from casters) to a specific main weapon type: the entire planning process of the build then fits around that weapon choice. Lets me explore lots of classes, races and builds really, love it :)

I have a couple of characters I kept from HCL, but they are currently bank toons, since I got the favour for Kundarak bank and Coin Lords inv on them ;)

It is a more the way of most mmos to play end game content after leveling them to cap. Then leveling them to the new cap after major updates.

I am looking to play end game content with my favorite characters from HCL. I dont have the time to play to get anywhere in HCL generally but i enjoy the excitement of the new server and the grouping option. I try to play different builds every season to change it up.

You have inspired me to advance my favorite HCL characters to play at cap and join the raiding scene!

That's great to hear Coffey: sounds like a great plan to be honest. The endgame raiding scene is great, lots of fun.

Really pleased to inspire others to advance first life characters (and/or chars with just a few past lives): contrary to what some players try to convey, first life characters are very viable and able to make very meaningful contributions at endgame and higher difficulties.

Made some adjustments to my Build repository:
> builds organised by categories
> all builds moved to the first page for ease of access, without needing to scroll through the pages

Hope these changes are helpful! :)

Though not made with the Hard Core League in mind, the builds in my repository provide stats/numbers that are:
  • based on what a first-lifer (or someone with minimal past lives) would have, unbuffed, outside of reaper mode (they do, however, include equipped gear and partially completed filigrees for endgame stats).
  • indicative of the potential minimum amounts that can be achieved with the investments that were proposed
I hope they provide some ideas/inspiration for Hard Core League 9!

I have also compiled several suggestions for melee defensiveness and survival that should hopefully be helpful too!

Enjoy! :)

Weapon critical profile section of several builds updated to include:
> breakdowns of the threat range and multiplier
> average additional base damage %
- for weapon crit profile (after feats/compentence bonuses applied)
- for crit profile boosts (e.g. on 19-20 rolls)

Example from my Dark Hunter build:
E. Weapon Critical profile 15-20/ x3
Critical threat range
Base
> 18-20: Rapiers
Feats
> +3 feat bonus: 'Improved Critical: Piercing' (feat)
= 15-20
Critical damage multiplier
Base
> x2: Rapiers
Heroic enhancements/spells
> +1 competence bonus: Tempest's 'Deflect Arrows [C4]'
= x3
Average additional base damage = +60%:
Critical threat range 15-20 = 6
Critical damage multiplier x3 (-1 to remove base) = 2
> 6 x 2 = 12
> Each point = 5% more average base damage
> 12 x 5% = 60%

> Crit damage multiplier boost = +2 (15-20/x5):
Feats
> +1 on 19-20 rolls: 'Overwhelming Critical'
Epic Destinies
> +1 on 19-20 rolls: FotW's 'Nature's Fury's [T5]'
15-20/x5 = 6 x 4 = 24
24 x 5% = +120% more average base damage

Hope this extra info is helpful.

Slowly working through the recent changes to update each build. RL been a bit busy lately, but hopefully I can get to this soon!
Since I don't play only what's 'meta', most of my choices actually got boosted, which is a great thing.

In the meantime, hope this repository remains a useful resource, and that people keep enjoying the builds.

The majority of my builds have now been updated to reflect the U66 changes.
Working to get the last few ones done sometime soon (currently in the middle of a holiday with my kids :))

The only build left to update ref the U66 changes is the Barbarian THF CON Melee DPS build Ravager.

Sadly it lost one of its key synergies: 'Visage of Terror' using CON for its DC formula. Now it uses Intimidate, which for a build like mine, creates the massive inconvenience of having to squeeze in gear with intimidate and Charisma to make that ability work.

So that build might take a bit longer to update, as it now involves gear tetris.

20k+ views on my Barbarian Ravager build!

My first individual build to reach this many views. Still seems to be the most popular in my repository:

Just hit 20k+ views!

Very pleased to see this repository remains a useful resource for ideas/inspiration!

As some of you have asked again, these are the builds with the most views:

With the level cap increase to 34 and the Myth Drannor expansion around the corner, some updates should be coming in the near future, so stay tuned!

As I aim to have the builds in my repository reflect my real characters in game, the gear is likely to be the last of the sections that will be updated for each build, as it is highly likely that it will take me a good while to acquire all the pieces I need. As I say in the preliminary notes of my builds:
  • gear choices are NOT part of the core build, but rather one of the most important ways to invest in the key elements of the core build to make the aims work. It has been added here simply to suggest options/ inspire. No promises are being made towards keeping this updated upon the release of new content.

Thanks a bunch for the great comments and appreciation from everyone who has been in touch via the forums, Discord and DMs.

Enjoy the builds! :)

I finally completed migrating all my builds into version 2 of Maetrim's DDOBuilder.
The majority of the builds are only offering links to v2 now.
A handful of builds are offering both v2 and the old v1 files, and that's mostly because Alchemical crafting has not yet been added to v2.

An extra action point (racial) was added to all builds, from the Ultimate Myth Drannor bundle.

If anyone spots any mistakes, do let me know, otherwise, enjoy! :)

I do recommend having the builder open while looking at my threads, as this will enable you to:
- hover over the abilities listed and learn more about them
- experiment with changing things and seeing if they would work better for you, before doing it in the live game
- get a general overview of the key aspects of the build

I arrange my DDOBuilder screen as per the image below (Monk Henshin Mystic build in the image), as it helps me view the key aspects of my builds far more easily than opening and closing a bunch of windows. Just thought I'd share, in case its useful:

Maetrim's builder is really amazing, I highly recommend it!

Warlock (Fiend) Enlightened Spirit build update:

Love the build, but I have just re-specced it to a Chaosmancer pure Warlock Careci (Ice) version, currently at level 10 (that"s right, I don’t go straight to level 15 because I run specific quests, at level, in reaper mode, for various reasons: favour / flagging for all raids / reaper xp / heroic items / etc. My playstyle, don’t care if it’s not ‘meta’).

The key reasoning behind this build change:
  • I personally like Wild Magic Surges, especially considering how the racial tree completely removes the possibility of having any ‘Very bad’ nor ‘Bad’ surges: so it’s mostly extra good stuff, free, no drawbacks
  • The Devs indicated the potential for further surges to be added in the future: I look forward to more free nice stuff!
  • Eladrin Chaosmancer has made it possible to have cold immunity bypass for pure Warlocks via the T4 AoE spell Winter Hail, much like Tiefling had done for pure Warlocks ref fire via 'Scorch'
  • Carceri pact includes several damage dealing spells (i.e. Creeping Cold, Ice Storm, Niac’s Biting Cold, Greater Creeping Cold) and a special ability that seems en par with ‘Hurl through Hell’ (i.e. Absolute Zero): for a build like mine, which actively casts damage dealing spells while the aura dishes out damage passively, this feels far more synergistic
  • The Fiend (Fire) build used ‘Exalted Angel’ as the main destiny. Since the ED revamp, this choice seems a lot weaker. The worst aspect was the Epic Moment being tied to Turn Undead and religious lore feats (Warlocks get none) and the loss of the healing in the mantle
  • Magus is the new main ED planned for this build, and I feel it will be a far superior tree overall. Some of the highlights: Time Stop, Zero Degree Comet, Moon Lance fully upgraded, Cold Light Zone fully upgraded, lots of Spell Penetration, etc.
  • Primal Avatar as a secondary tree also feels strong. The key highlights: extra CHA, extra imbue die, the mantle, Evergreen, Thundersnow (upgraded)
  • The potential to use a rune arm (via Machrotecnic) for further extra damage: very keen to test this addition!
  • Losing Dragon Breath: Vortex seems a shame, but I am keen to test the potential of the ED choices summarised above at endgame
Below are the key aspects of the build (as in the planner). I will only fully post this in the forums once the build is at endgame, fully geared, tried and tested. This serves as an indication of the direction I am heading; in case anyone finds it useful!

Note: the gaps in the gear plan are intentional, and have Myth Drannor loot in mind. Options could change later, but for now, that's a rough draft of what I have in mind.

Since I won’t be actively playing the Fiend (Fire) build in the live game anymore, updates to that build (inc Myth Drannor changes) won’t be made anymore. I will move it to the section of my repository titled ‘Builds no longer being actively played nor updated, for anyone to potentially get some ideas/ inspiration from it, or even to update/add to it from where it was last modified.

Sorry, too much to juggle: I will always prioritise the builds I am actively playing.

Loving the ice version so far!
