Magic of Myth Drannor changes
New Epic feat + Epic Destiny feat

I have not yet levelled every alt to 34, so this is what I am aiming to try-and-test.
  • Eerie Aim (lvl 33)
    • +5% Dodge bypass, bringing the total to 10% {5% of which for 20s while and Action Boost is active}
    • +5% Deflection bypass
    • +10 Attack
  • Guarded Actions (level 34)
    • whenever you use an Action Boost, you take 20% less damage for 6 seconds
      • this will go nicely together with all the other 'while an Action Boost is active' recently acquired in Legendary Dreadnought
      • to me, DDO is not a DPS race and neither a DPS competition: this choice reflects my approach to investing in both DPS and some survivability/defensiveness, as per what I shared in this thread.

Build update

In the recent Black Friday Sales, I got an excellent deal upgrading from Standard edition to the Vecna Ultimate Fan bundle ...

... so I now have a Universal tome (Morgrave) for all my characters. Well worth the wait for this price, and I got to enjoy the content/gear all long!


The following changes/additions 👇 were made to this build:
  • +1 Knight of the Chalice (new total = 43 APs):
    • [T3] Divine Sacrifice (rank 1):
      • +20% Damage attack that increases the critical multiplier of your weapon by 1 and deals some additional Light damage, but costs 5 hp and 1 sp, whether or not the attack is successful. Gain +15 Temporary Spell Points if striking Undead or Evil Outsiders (cooldown: 3s)
      • AoE via strikethrough
Heroic enhancements: 85 = 80 + 3 (Racial tomes) + 2 (Universal tome)

Together with my Dark Hunter build, (and likely thanks to the U72 changes, now also my Monk Henshin build), this has always pretty consistently been the second build with the highest number of views out of all the builds in my repository:

Slowly working towards updating gear sets to include a few pieces of gear with S/M augments to existing set bonuses (similarly to the gear set I recently put together for my Bard swashbuckler hybrid).

The long-term plan is to revise all gear sets to achieve similar results, but highly likely I will:
  • start from the hybrids, since I now have the Bard Swash sample to adjust from
  • then move on to the casters, since their gear set was not updated at the same time as the pure melee gear sets
  • and finally move on to the pure melee builds, which were the most recently updated to also include the gear planner spreadsheet
In the meantime, hopefully lots of new pieces of gear with S/M slots get released, to create the volume, range and flexibility that level 29-32 gear has been offering so far.

Gear update

I just finished putting together a new gear set for this build using Sun/Moon augments combined with previous set bonuses (I got all the pieces ready in game too, but not quite all the S/M augments I need).

The main post has NOT yet been updated to account for the changes: if anything, numbers will increase, but there were no losses really.

(Posting the gear below for ease of access, but bear in mind only the main post will be updated in time, not here).

(not part of the core build: choices based on what supports the main aims of the build best, with the intention to suggest/ inspire)

Filigree master plan:
  1. Primarily invest in Melee Power and Imbue die.
  2. Smite evil charges, Strikethrough and CHA are secondary aims, if/when possible to squeeze in
  3. other effects get the least priority.

The S/M system is so much more flexible, but it requires you to farm so much more. Before we'd get the 13-14 items we'd need, and the set bonuses were just automatically there, requiring you to simply equip the items. Now it's 13-14 items to be farmed, and then, additionally, farm each piece of the set bonus to slot in them. But once it's put together, you can fit so much more, it's real nice.

I wish the S/M system could be adjusted to be a bit easier to acquire while farming the 13-14 items. Maybe a token system that drops in every chest where S/M currently drop, that can be accumulated to be traded for the specific S/M augment one needs?

There aren’t many gear setup posts that use MD gear on the forums, so I really appreciate you sharing your puzzle using that gear.

I’ve never gotten a Melee Power +12 augment and thought it wasn’t in DDO right now.
Is the +12 MPw on the Katra Ring referring to the Melee Power +12 augment?

Ref the +12 Melee Power augment:
- Yes, the +12 MPw I listed for the katra ring is an augment
- You are right that they aren't currently available to purchase from the augment vendor (Randal Lyric), but hopefully it will become available to purchase through one of the future expansions ( 🤞 Lamordia)
- However, I do believe +12 MPw augments are currently dropping in chests. Though I have not looted one myself yet, I have definitely looted other level 32 augments that are not yet available to be purchased via Randal (e.g. +22 Accuracy; +294 Spell Points, etc: these will go in the red boxes in the image below 👇 when they become available in game via Randal Lyric)

All in all, I currently have the +10 topaz on my gear. If you have't looted one yet, they can be purchased from the Randal Lyric in Sharn (outside of the Drunken Dragon tavern)

It's a shame I never managed to pull the rare MD Heavy armor of the Warblade, but if you do happen to have it, you could aim for a gear set very similar to the one I put together for my Barbarian Ravager:
