Keeping my Wild Mage strong past 24. What destinies and mantles matter most?

Hey everyone. I just hit level 20 on my Wild Mage and I am having a blast. My gear leans into Light and Chaos damage and it has been great so far. I pushed all the way up the Wild Mage enhancement tree and it feels amazing.

Now that I am looking ahead, I want to make smart choices for epic destinies. Which destinies play the best with Light and Chaos damage spell damage (EA? PA?). Also, which mantle brings the most value for this style of play.

One thing I love is the Wild Mage capstone. It hits so hard as an AOE. The only concern is that it stops scaling after level 24 from what I can tell. How far can I push it before it starts to feel behind. What can I do in epics to keep the whole theme relevant through level 30.

Any insight or experience would help a ton.

I wasn't really a big fan of wild mage other than the capstone. The chaos ball is too wonky and unreliable, like alchemist flasks. I think I mainly just went draconic fire style for meteor, and then got light spellpower from other stuff like exalted/primal.

I embraced chaos and played WM as intended (not necessarily optimally) with chaos & light. I picked EA strike and somewhat specced into healing with various epic SLAs. EA and PA mostly, yes.

For dps probably just run draconic acid mantle, primal avatar and exalted angel.

Its bad no matter what you do. No idea why they made chaos spells to suck so much. Run again a wild mage life test wise and ended up meteor swarming things as usual just out of frustration with those mentioned chaos spells.

I’ve been one shotting every mob single target and AOE…. I’ve had zero problems… my question is will it go on past 24? Can I shoe horn some spell power in when my spells stop scaling.

But… anyone looking for a fun and fast leveler through Heroics…. Again, chaos and light single target and AOE…. Mostly on sla’s…. Use almost no spell points. Running R1 th entire time.

My big question is will this sustain through Epics? I’m thinking maybe not. Will let ya know.
