Lag Awareness and Planned Hotfix

Unfortunately that's likely not realistic because some of these problems don't appear until you have numbers. For example if you look at the servers with low populations everything is mostly normal. For example this entire time I've been able to play just fine on Khyber. It's only once you have a player base the size of Orien that things start to act up. So unless you have a surefire way to get Orien's numbers on Lamannia longer testing won't do much.
That's not entirely true. For example I've had crippling lag on Khyber.

I don't know... khyber has been for me and my group the worst I have seen in 13 -14 years. I usually have no lag, but we keep having to quit quests when grouping (maybe 33 percent of the quests have to be abandoned).

Solo play for us is not as bad (though still bad), and wilderness seems better still, but we are trying to avoid any long quests to avoid dropping them half way through!

But good to hear that someone isn't getting lagged down!

thanks for the notice. I am fine with whatever as I am El Cheapo here but pro-tip: let folks know of your efforts when they begin, not two weeks later!

I guess that's the thing. I resent the absolute lack of communication. Only when there is a solution is the problem acknowledged.

*Pro-tip: That's not good PR and it does not promote trust or confidence.

*Disclaimer:
I'm not a pro, but I did stay at a Best Western last night.

I'd hold off on compensation talk until Sunday...if the lag is fixed, then unload the ideas. Although, if they bundle this fix with compensation and it doesn't fix lag and a bunch of folks log in...well, that could be a nightmare we all want to avoid.

also, if the lag is fixed, I'd like to promote a ludicrous and baseless story that lag was intentional to drive folks to Cormyr, so the fix is really removing what some folks are calling the Cormyr throttle...and if you all aren't nicer on the forums I've been hearing that they can turn it back on at any time...so no one get to crazy, k?

They just don't want those of us that know better to die laughing. I appreciate their concern. I fell off my chair when I heard the 32b Windows Server thrashing was a major source of lag. (I'm OK btw).

Good to see SSG is finally acknowledging the lag problem but this is a very lackluster apology.

VIP time felt like it was paying towards a non-functioning service lately so I hope some form of compensation is being looked into. Like a massive boost weekend/week (like what was done before MD launched) or something.
You will get some cosmetic ******** as we already got from the dragon 🤣

SSG's official Discord community had developers commenting on the problem. Cordovan on October 8th. Tolero and SteelStar on October 11th. It's the reason that despite not wanting to do so I signed up for yet another server on Discord.

Ryiah, that is a fair point, but shouldn't that information be here as well? I feel it should.

P.S. I"m on Discord as well, but may have missed the dev commentary on some of that.

It absolutely should be but the moment they announced an official server I knew it wouldn't be. I only noticed it because I was on at the time it happened and that's one of the major flaws of Discord.

You would think it should. But no. The forums are only here to let us vent our frustration where noone who matters will ever see it.
In my experience it's also just easier to communicate on Discord. I find with forums I tend to stop and think about my posts more and as a result I tend to just decide not to post at all. Sometimes that's a good thing. :p

I work in the city but live in the country. One Friday night as I was leaving, my boss yelled, "See you Monday!" I yelled, "Have a good weekend!" and then drove out to hang with my friends in the country.

We were having such a good time telling old stories and drinking beers that on Saturday night, I told my friends, "I don't think I' going to make it to work on Monday."

On Tuesday, I drove back to the city and went to work. My boss was really angry. I tried to explain my situation, but my boss said: "That's really irresponsible. Why didn't you tell anyone that you couldn't come into work?"

So I said:

"But I did tell someone."

Last night, I was watching my wife play at 10:00pm Hawaii time (1am Pacific) with 60 people on Cannith and it was like watching a slide show. Yes, for the most part we on the smaller servers haven't had many issues, but last night it got pretty bad.

They acknowledged it a few years back by hiring a person to fix the lag then nothing ever came of it. This is a major problem for them

Thank you, indeed. Thank you for continuing to post updates here. ..I know it's 'hard, because..' but it is the official place.. or is it now the vintage place to post? :(

From my side it looks like there was a evening with less legs yesterday. From my side I have seen none but some players where telling there was but only very short.
