While I don't personally think we need more epic quests (i.e. those between levels 20 and 29) there have been many requests for more of them. Running quests for no experience because there are way too many quests is just part of the game. This won't be a quest people focus on at legendary levels but otherwise it will be fine. It's a quest to get you from 20 to 30. I usually sit at level 29 for a while so I can get RXP from quests that are below level 30.Level 28???
This is what will happen: Players will try to run this quest Epic Elite or Reaper Mode at level, at which point their characters are level 30. Level 30 characters cannot earn experience from a level 28 quest.
Is this not a very serious problem?
no, for the vast majority of players that is not a part of the game. Very few players autistically confine themselves to run every single quest every life for no meaningful reason. You may in fact be the only one.Running quests for no experience because there are way too many quests is just part of the game.
Remember that there are people that run multiple Epic TRs so having fresh first-time bonuses then these quests will be run.no, for the vast majority of players that is not a part of the game. Oh but there are some that run all the quests for favor for ddo points and to pick up the ability tomes.no, for the vast majority of players that is not a part of the game. The point is, no matter what level they add the quest the experience is useless. We have way too many quests at every level of the game. All more quests do is add variety. While I personally support making all new quests heroic/legendary (as opposed to heroic/epic) since eventually we will have legendary reincarnation and the legendary quests will actually have a point, for now, there is so much experience available at every level that it makes no different what level any quest is.no, for the vast majority of players that is not a part of the game. Can anyone confirm what the favor patron is and how much favor the quests are worth? Can someone post what the patron and favor reward is for this new quest?
Agree we're not xp constrained anymore so no particular quests are needed to level but it's still relevant if a quest does not provide XP in some contexts. Maybe they should give Legendary xp if you conform to the usual leveling meta, which for epics is within 4 levels over base quest level. For example, a level 28 quest could be folded into providing XP for levels 30-32 with different (new) rules. The point is, no matter what level they add the quest the experience is useless. I know you seem to take a personal affront to the way I play the game and enjoy following me around on the forums nagging me for it, but it doesn't change the fact that we are not playing 2010 DDO where all experience is super valuable and you have to repeat quests to get a 3rd life TR because the game was designed with a number of quests appropriate for a first life and they added TR before they were prepared for the extra experience requirements. Now new quests are useful from a fun perspective, but the experience really doesn't matter since we have way more than we need already.
Your so called "vast majority" are NOT VIPs. And have to run every quest to squeeze those DDO Points out of Favor.no, for the vast majority of players that is not a part of the game. Very few players autistically confine themselves to run every single quest every life for no meaningful reason. You may in fact be the only one.
I have seen people playing at 2 levels below base level of quest to help them level to the lv 30 quests for reaper xp runs. You do not have to run quests at base +2.Agree we're not xp constrained anymore so no particular quests are needed to level but it's still relevant if a quest does not provide XP in some contexts. We agree, you can do what you want. My point stands. Nitpick: It's base +4.I have seen people playing at 2 levels below base level of quest to help them level to the lv 30 quests for reaper xp runs. You do not have to run quests at base +2.
No idea about amount of favor (out of my wheelhouse) but this quest's patron is the Harpers. Can anyone confirm what the favor patron is and how much favor the quests are worth?
Wasn't there a voice line from baldurs gate 1 about hating the harpers?Harpers.
