Laughing out Loud - Pork Barrel?!

Okay,

At least according to the wiki this is not a new phenomenon. But it was the first time it had ever happened to me, so I thought I'd share the story for anyone who has yet to experience the spectacle.

I'll set the stage:

You're in a dungeon you've run at least 100 times before, farming tokens for an upcoming respec. You're diligently blasting devils in vermin that swarm at you from every side. Suddenly, out of the corner of your eye, you spot something you haven't seen before. But it's only there for an instant, because as you blast the next wave barreling down on you, the barrel itself explodes!!!

And a ringed rain of tasty hams begins to appear on the floor amid the explosion

I seriously had no idea what was going on, and had to alt tab out and look it up. I think I have double rainbow to thank for this rare surprise.

Another minor surprise is that the 50 tasty hams that I recovered stacked nicely in my inventory. Thank you for a genuine belly laugh SSG!

lol. I didn't even know that. The thing usually explodes so fast in combat that I have never had time to notice that.

Our guild leader gets all the hams we encounter sent to him. Its a tradition. He has several toons full.

And yes i will stop in the middle of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING and pick up the hams. Priorities, one must have them.

So I just looked at the pig, and my brother had a dog that looked very similar as well, though he was a bit wider. He was a rescue from an illegal dog breeder that used him as a stud and was kept in a cage barely bigger than he was for 5 years. He couldn't even turn around the cage was so small. Ended up with a heart condition from it and could barely waddle across a room without having to lay down and take a break.

The white flash from the hamsplosion sometimes has me thinking for a brief moment that my toon just died. Then ham starts falling from the sky...

This almost seems like something that The Traveler would bestow..

New warlock archetype - Instead of using Evard's for AoE damage, you utilize Portable Hamstorm.

It has happened to me, the hams, more than once in "Watch your Step" in the borderlands. Its happened four or five times. It happens behind the door that satisfies the "explore the dungeon" requirement. I have never seen the pig on top of the barrrel though.
