Silly question: would a regular use of the Search skill have found the door? Search works underwater and usually mandatory doors have a low enough DC for anyone to find them.
You only need to do that for the optional (detect to get to the named wight and chest) pretty sure the lever alone makes the crest accessible.
// The Ancient Shrine first requires you to solve a puzzle. After a fight, you'll then explore a series of underwater tunnels looking for a lever to open a gate to the Crest. //

After pulling said lever I suddenly found myself staring at 4 walls and no way out. my search skill was too low to detect anything hence "detect secret doors"

Just Business, Have to do this quest every life for saga and flagging. But bats are insanely hard to hit for any kind of ranged build and with limited AOE of such builds your are surrounded with multiple explosion bats instantly, and in reaper the reaper pulls every bat in the vicinity so can be hit with 7 bats on an evasion build but capped MRR (seems like the evasion roll does not help much). Even on r1, MRR 100 just is not enough. Aslo IRK hits stupid hard with damage that either is huge or is a type that bypasses all PRR or MRR. Does 2000+ damage on R1, assuming 50% DR, way over 4000 damage. And safe spot does not seem to work on solo, because he always gets stuck under the stairs, and if you try to pull him out, he permanently marks you with smoke bomb (no timeout) and unless you dodge , that hit will instantly kill most light armor builds with less than 2500 HP. Those gnolls and their gang ups are no joke either as they split and surround and it seems that for part of that movement all ranged bolts miss the target. Do all the other quests on r3-r4 and do this on R1 and hate every minute of it.

Back to Basics, Into the Mists, A Sharn Welcome, Members Only, Safety In Numbers, Knight that cried Windmill, Lost at Sea, and Witch Hunt.

You can probably guess why... :ROFLMAO:

Hmm... try as I might, I can't see what links these. That they are very fast if not going for optionals? That can't be it though if we are talking about least favorite ones...

I can do things others can't...

They're all the test quests chosen to check for Loot Drop rates, and because of how many times I need to run the darn things (and still not be done with them)...

I basically run them more than I actually play in DDO at the moment. So yeah, sick of them totally. But need the data so we all know what's going on loot wise.

Not sure how that happened, the lever is in 1 section of a + shaped room you swim down into. There IS a secret door down there, as mentioned, but it's only to a optional named wight with a junk chest.

Pulling the lever should ONLY open the gate in the room with the puzzles, allowing access to the crest.

Feywild - Needle in a Feystack

Its easy enough to find the right chest, but when the mobs spawn and can run at 30% run speed and youre level 8 and dont have a Quiver of Alacrity or enhancements which boost run speed you run all over the entire map. When finally the mob stops you beat it down, then another mob spawns and it runs off at 30% run speed and you think yourself lucky you only have to do it 2 more times !!

Look up and swim all the way back to the surface. The same way you came down.

It won't help there. 🤐

The quiver gives 30% run speed. Certainly better than Angers Step clickies or 20% Speed items.

Its yet more proof that devs and producers dont ptoperly test.

It IS better than those but the same as any 30% striding/ run speed augment you could have at that time.

Also these days mostly no one lets the animal run away from them at all.

Also just do your scoundrel past lives

That's good advise to work around the problem.

However it would be optimal if the bridges in the Demonweb were adjusted to always let you easily get to the quests, if you know the general direction you need to go. It sounds like a small update to ensure that right-hand bridge is always there could help a lot!
No. It's a chaotic plane. For that the layout changes every time. But as I said, it's not difficult to reach the locations. The devs have made that easier by having only three landing sites, two of which are adjacent to quests (and the other quest is very close to Trial). It takes no time at all to reach the quests.

So, no need to change the design of the demonweb.

I wish Myth Drannor had an access to quests as fast as demonweb.

Tiefling Scoundrel? Im not even sure I own it. Currently doing Halfling Rogue Assassin on my main, and Half-Orc Stick Monk on my alt. Ive owned Half-Orc for probably 6 or 8 years but this is the 1st time Ive ever played one.

Also, solo melee only have so many ways to stop the animals running away.

Ok? I just did it in one go with a level 7 barb with only trip two days ago.

Also if you just dps fast on a spawn it will not run but “fight “ about 40% health.

Last you can hold up dps to wait for your cc to come off timer for the next spawn .

bark and the blade or times long past
why?
because both are part of a relevant endgame saga, drop relevant loot, are ungodly long for no reason, feature complete BS enemy mechanics, have 1 named loot chest when there should be 3, have no way to skip stuff, tons of running, and basically force players to spend 5 AS or be vip to complete the saga cuz otherwise they waste 10-20+ minutes being bored out of their minds
Bark and the blade is horrible. Just endless running, and heaven help you if you realize you failed to get something to spawn and have to go back looking for it.

The map notes make it better tho, now its just horriblly tedious.

Ok I retract, I studied the immediate area after entering the lever-room so I knew precisely where in the ceiling area the exit was. However I still regard Isle of Dread unplayable as a gaming experience and having completed all the quests I'll really need to think hard before experiencing this hell again
Hate what you hate, but I don't see any IoD quest design that isn't done worse in MD.

gonna do this in 3 parts:

Part 1:
I'm gonna say it...i am...

While leveling in heroics/epics, any quest that is sub par xp/min (take your pick...there are plenty)
Note: To be clear, I dont hate these quests...I just avoid them to save time/money

Part 2:
babysitting (escort) quests. I mean, not only are these boring and a PITA to me, i try and avoid them entirely

Part 3:
Gather Mechanic Quests - ok, some are necessary...sharn welcome comes to mind... but don't you just hate when your party gathers except one person that goes to get a slice of pizza and comes back 3-4 mins later? (guilty when I was a noob).

Overall worst quest for me: Tomb of the Tormented
This fits 2 out of the 3 parts of quests I avoid. Babysitting rats, that are slow as heck. I ain't got time for that! lol

I'd rather have to gather than have a barrier pop up when the first person crosses a threshold, making the rest of the party click on something to join the fight. Barriers like that are stupid.

Wake Me up inside is a good example. I've been stuck in the barrier, unable to move, while being fireballed by one of the NPC's on the fight side. Using /stuck doesn't work, every attack interrupts the stuck command.

I used to hate Through a Mirror Darkly, but now it's Times Long Past. All the switching from 1 reality to another and confusing false doors unless you're on the other side. Just plain annoying and frustrating.

Both easily doable in under 10 min solo. Less than 6 min if 2 people know them and split up.
