Legendary Reincarnations

They haven't been very into the whole "making new things" thing for a while so while that would be nice...
And why would they when people are excited about the prospect of another leveling grind that gives a +1 to something or other?

What really worries me is that legendary quests seem to give PATHETIC xp
Yeah, we haven't had a WGU or Legendary Shroud -tier xp legendary quest, but xp requirements to level are way up.

In general, some of the more annoying / painful quests don't give enough experience like some of the old hard quests used to (Crucible comes to mind).

The hard and long quests in high end legenday sagas like Times Long Past and Snowfall and Sunlight not giving more base xp than WGU is not right. And I don't mean this as a comparison - I mean these long quests in the fringes areas of these legendary chains should give more experience - we are in for a rude awakening if they ever take the 30 => cap jump away with current xp rates.

In general, legendary quests - especially the very long ones - don't have enough oomph both in base xp and optional objectives.

Edit: also, threats old and new being 17k base xp... just because there is little in the way of running but there is so much chewing through sponges in that quest that it should honestly grant triple that >_>

I have just finished all racials and epics on my main, still 18 class lives to go, please for the love of my sanity do not bring this in any time soon 😩

That being said my alt will hopefully also be completionist by the time this happens so I’m clearly a masochist and take my displeasure with a grain of salt

You are missing the hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars spent on a therapist after doing 1443 cogs sagas...
Legendary TR should reset first time bonuses. Either that or the other sagas need a huge xp buff to become similar xp / time reward to cogs, so people can do all sagas from 30-38/40. So there's at least some variety. But resetting all first time xp is better so you can also do non saga quests.

I wasn't playing at the time, but from I what I heard, when epic TR came out, the most efficient way to grind epic xp and epic destiny sphere xp was repeating one quest over and over. A lot of people got burned out and quit. Doing one saga over and over isn't much better. Don't want to repeat that mistake.

Hypotheticals
  • Given the current EXP curve of Legendary EXP, a level 38 Legendary Reincarnation is going to require 17.7 million EXP.
  • Personal assumption, we will have 3 Legendary Past Lives based off of the 13 Scion Legendary Feats (thus, 39 total Legendary Past Life Feats).
  • Legendary Reincarnation moves you from level 38 back to level 30.
  • There is a 3 day timer similar to Epic Reincarnation.
  • Thus, it will take 690,300,000 EXP total to get all Legendary Reincarnation Past Lives.

How long will it take?

More Assumptions:
  • It is likely that, initially, the people doing Legendary Past Lives will have many other types of Past Lives completed, so their focus would specifically be Legendary Past Lives.
  • Thus, the player will probably be doing the 30-38 level bracket on the same character repeatedly, and will be exhaust first-time quest completion bonuses.
  • Therefore, the best EXP over time will end up being... repeated Cogs Sagas, being they do not have any repeat penalties and are the fastest Legendary Saga to complete.
  • The Base EXP is going to be somewhere between 276000 EXP per saga (if repeat penalties fully apply) to 420000 EXP per saga (if no repeat penalties are active).
  • A saga will take about 14 minutes (VIP double-skip doing 6 quests per saga) to 23 minutes (full 8 quests done).
  • Using the fastest timeframe without bypassing reincarnation timers (+70% EXP via guild, heroic inspiration, VIP, +50% EXP potions) would be about 37 Cogs Sagas per Past Life over 8.6 hours, totaling 336 hours over 17 weeks to get all the Legendary Past Lives. Would also require 7215 Astral Shards to do that many double-skip sagas.
  • On the slower side (+15% EXP Bonus, no VIP, no quests skipped, max 3 sagas per day), it would be about 39 Cogs Sagas (as quest ransack EXP would reset) at 15 hours per Past Life. About 585 hours total done over 1 year and 4 months time.

Not entirely looking forward a minimum 336+ hour time sink. Would probably unearth some of those rare Shattered Device filigree though..
I want to be the first to predict SSG's nerfing of the Cog's Saga right before LPLs go live =P
They will probably add a replay timer of 3 days, like what currently exists for raids. OOOHHH!!!, I know, they will add a "Cog's Saga Reset Timer" to the store. Fun times!!

The House of Rusted Blades.

But- the devs don't worry about excessive repetition, or they wouldn't have created the rare loot that forces such repetitive gameplay.

They only worry when they think something will hurt their sales of xp pots and boxes.

lol .... that was easy! This was a win.:)

Sometimes its easier to remove the ability to get triggered than run around screaming at clouds.

And if you spent half as much the time playing as you do rage baiting on the forums, you'd have already caught up years ago. Your inability to catchup is entirely a you problem, and using new players for triangulation in an attempt to validate your lack of skill and unwillingness to put in the effort to succeed in this game, is obviously transparent. This is why so many of us have you blocked and squelched, and yet you remain oblivious.

Getting my post deleted doesn't change the facts.
what rage baiting

I hope they make them a multi-past life type thing rather than a new power boost. Where it gives race + class + epic all in one (or something similar) and puts you back to level 1.
If I have to run from 1-40 for one legendary PL, I might rethink playing the game. That's a massive grind for one PL. I am fine with what you suggest if there is also the option to LR from 40 to 30, similar to Epic reincarnation now. The EXP required to go 30-40 is pretty massive as is.

By the time level cap is 40, AI will have caught up enough to provide the producers with a solution to Legendary PLs that is fair, balanced and monetizable.

Though you jest, AI may be a solution for this games longevity. Creating a LLM trained specifically and only on DDO code would, in time, become a useful tool.
