I have all the packs listed on the following link https://www.ddo.com/news/ddo-free-thankyou-2025

plus these expansion packs

  • Fables of the Feywild
  • Masterminds of Sharn
  • Menace of the Underdark
  • Mists of Ravenloft
  • The Shadowfell Conspiracy
  • Isle of dread
I would prefer to play in groups but if I can't find a group, prefer to play solo so the build must be solo capable.

Given access to the above packs, what is the best wizard for me? Ideally would love to play a pale master with strong minions to kill things with.

However, open to suggestions. If somebody skilled and experienced could guide me on what items I should obtain, this would be much appreciated. Thank you.

If you don't have discord, I highly recommend it. There's several community servers with a strong Moonsea population. It's a great place to get connected.

The advice I gave you in 2024 still applies to today's Wizard. The only thing that's changed is the new equipment.

Follow Strimtoms' builds at your own responsability.

We're on the same server now. See you there!

There have been lots of references in the past to Mecromancer being the strongest, and it probably is. My preference is for Archmage. Not because it is the most powerful (it isnt) but because I like it, and it works for me.

The most powerful wizard uses both enhancement trees. There's no reason to limit yourself to just one if efficiency is your goal. Feydark is meh and won't give you half the benefits of Pale Master or Archmage. EK doesn't add much to a pure caster. Use your class enhancement trees. Both Archmage and Pale Master offer interesting things. It's best to use both.

Yes, all caster enhancement trees need a pass to match the improved martial enhancement trees. But that's another story.
