18/1/1 means 18 levels of one class, 1 level of another class, and 1 level of a third class. 8/6/6 means 8 levels of one class, 6 levels of another class, and 6 levels of a third class.

S-tier mean better than A ranking. It's the normal A through F scale used for school except with an extra letter above A for extremely good builds.

I think the issue is some have been typing 18/1/1 for say Warlock, but arent saying what the 1/1 are.

Usually when I see 18/1/1, it's 18 something melee / 1 FvS (for the trance) / 1 Warlock (for the aura to auto-proc the MP side of Arcane Warrior)

Gotta get all the Melee Power you can get!

Thanks Cmecu... Yeah. I got pulled into real life and came back to find 170 replies with 95% of them assuming all sorts of things about me and giving non-answers.

To the rest... No. I don't need help killing things. Apparently the Inquisitive build got nerfed long before I even made one, yet I can still run full speed through basic quests killing everything before I reach it with mine... My Sorc can nuke anything and rarely even needs to shrine. My melee build is a bit slower, but is reliable and not all that slow. I'm not bragging. I assume most people with remedial math skills can do the same with most of their characters. (And none of these is anyone's cookie cutter build... Even if I am trying the flavor of the day, I still make it my flavor.)

I just remember like 2008 when Tempest Ranger was king and everyone wanted wounding of puncturing rapiers. And it seems like every year or two it's something new.

I notice that there is more variety now... It's not a single build, but there seem to be several that rise above. I wanted to see several builds in hopes of finding something interesting that I haven't tried. I saw Strimtom's take on Dragonlord. That's actually what inspired me to ask the question and see what others are doing. Thanks for a rare actual answer without the pathological pessimism that seems to be baked into our culture.

Japan adopted western A through F grading. But wanted something to recognize rare and exceptional work. Unsure if it is adopted from English "Superior" or some other word. In any event, 'S' is rare and beyond 'A'.

This came to the western world via anime and video game competitions. In recent years, tier lists have popped up to rate "best chicken sandwich" and the like, with 'S' as the topmost tier.

I can see why you are looking for a better build thats a B-grade build at best, but i guess you figured that out, dont put yourself in a bad build following bad advice.

I started reading the first couple of pages, then I started skimming through the rest and poor OP, I think I only saw 1 build posted to answer your question. When trying a different class or play style, i'll often go the build forums for that class and find a build thats not too old and template it after that.

These are the most recent builds i've done/plan to do. While some are older than others, they offer good templates to model builds after. I've found that reading what the "goal of the build" is helps understand with build decisions and adds lots of insight for my future home brew builds. Hope this helps the OP.
