LOD Tomb of Shadow Night Question

Hi, my son and I ran Tomb of the Shadow Night (quest 3 in LOD Part 2 arc). There's a pair of levers that allow access to the southern altar. One is an overhead target lever. What's the trick for activating the two levers? No matter what I did I could not activate the overhead lever with my bow. Is there some sequence to the two levers? Is there a way to bypass the overhead lever? Any help would be appreciated. It was our last alter in the quest and we had to recall, bummer.

Turn off auto target (G by default iirc) and manually aim at the bottom of the lever.

Mouselook on makes the ceiling lever easy to hit. BUT!

Duoing or solo with a hire this is easy.

1. pull lever at end of hallway, this opens gate to lightning room.
2. pull lever again, this closes first gate and opens gate on other side of lightning room where there is another lever
3. pull new lever, this switches gates once again, letting second person into lightning room
4. pull new lever second time, this lets second person out of lightning room.

hitting the ceiling lever with a ranged weapon functions the same, pull lever at end of hallway, step into room, hit ceiling lever, everyone free to exit room.
