Looking for Dino mats

Looking into building my 1st dino weapon, and it's a ton of farming. Looking for someone with a glut of mats they wouldn't mind offloading cheaply. looking for

• 125 Fossilized Raptor Claws
• 125 Fossilized Triceratops Horns
• 125 Pteranodon Vertebrae
• 125 Fossilized Ankylosaur Ribs

You can net about 70-100 of each of the mats by ransacking all the wilderness rares (purple don’t give those mats). There is a fairly linear path you can take to all the rares that takes less than 5min to complete.


Cat, Crab, Statue, Mummy, Ship (underwater), Stegosaurus, Bear, Ettercap, Waterwierd, Giant then Kopru is how I run it.

Aye, thanks. I am running them as I go, sitting around 50ish of each now. need the purples (2, **** that dragon) for pearls, and the lucky Q-staff drop so i don't have to buy it hopefully. Hoping to shortcut the farming a bit, and benefit from the huge dps upgrade over my sirith, for more farming =)

I know it’s a raid item, but have you looked at the staff of shadows from Killing Time? That’s probably the best Qstaff.

I get about +100 on each saga run, snagging all the "easy" extra mat chests.

IMHO, only use dino over time for attuned (raid) dino and then only when it unlocks the set and or will be used for debuffing, too. Otherwise, KT's is the best pick.

The DDO Wiki does not show a Crab, Underwater Ship, or Stegasaurus on the rare encounter map. They are not on the rare encounters list. Is there more information about these unlisted encounters somewhere?

Crab is on the beach (south of All Hail the King and the golem rare).

Never seen one near the ship (assuming that's the griffon ship). Doubt an underwater rare exists, since we can't fight underwater and thus could not kill it. Unless it's simply a naked rare unguarded chest underwater.

Never seen a Stegasaurus in all of dread. Pretty sure it does not exist or you mean the triceratops rare.

They are there.

Sorry it’s a triceratops, not a stegosauraus. It’s the one near tar pits.

The crab is SW of where the burnished warden spawns, behind the bone fence looking thing on the southern coast of the black beach.

The Griffon encounters isn’t a rare. But you must kill the 2 active griffons to unlock the chest. It in NW of Yasafar at the only ship visible on the map. You can jump to the first stone plateau and q click. If the chest is there, you will see it alternate with the collectible after spamming.

Not sure why the wiki doesn’t show these on the map. The crabby is a rare even and gives XP. The griffin encounter is not a rare but has the chest all the same. Both also drop Dino Mats, augments and items.

Thanks! My pattern is the same as yours, minus the crab and griffon roost. I will add those locations to my route.
