looking for raid groups

I was just wondering if there are any groups that still do teaching raids .
I'm a 18 DH/2 rogue, lvl 34 longbow user. Have an 84 dex and can be a decent trapper if needed , but I'm not an uber player, 3 PL equipped with MD and Vecna gear.

I'm on the east coast US, so if anyone is still out there that is doing this anymore drop me a line.

Happy New year to all.

What raid(s) are you wanting to learn?
Almost all of them. I'd love to do Ravenloft, and others that would work with my level. I really just want to do them at least once. I'm not looking for gear. And I really want to contribute to the raid not just get dragged along. My gaming group is only 3 others and two are just not interested in raids. We realize that it would be much harder to join a group with 4 newbie raiders.

Anyway thanks for replying

Any particular reason they are disinterested in raids? Raids are mostly just longer quests, often with some special mechanics, and with a general skew toward actually wanting a balanced party.

We did Tempest Spine once or twice. Way back in 2008 we were in a guild that did TS, Chrono but the guild broke up and we started our own 4 man one.

Not to criticize my friends but they've never really got into really learning to how to play tougher quests and equip themselves for that. My other friend is our Paladin, and he has been in lots of raids and is an awesome toon. But the others just never figured out how to avoid things and being squishy constantly get killed.

And please that's not to say I'm some wonderful player, I'm certainly not. But with what the environment seemed to move to we never got the chance to join raids on Argo as none were ever posted for the last several years in the time we could all play.
That's why I'm posting to see if anyone is still out there willing to take a new guy and not zerg through the raid.

You are describing my situation at Moonsea 😅

Well, I can teach you pretty much every raid and quest. I am in a similar situation and mostly end up soloing or running with my remaining guildmate who raids sometimes.

Huh, I posted a reply to you. But it's not here. I'm sorry for not noticing sooner.
Anyway I'd love to try to hook up with you, if we can work out a time. I hope you use discord or the in-game voice , as I'm a lousy typist. Most weekdays or nights are pretty available, except Wednesday afternoon and Friday nights.

Hey I saw your post, but it disappeared. I think you said you are on GMT, so 5 hours ahead of me. I don't know if 1pm EST would work for you. I work nights so mornings are a little tricky.

Hey Vel Raptors might be able to help, no need on joining the guild unless you want to but we have a very active discord and pride ourselves on helping new/returning players and bridge the gap between unexperienced and raid players. I can share a link to the discord if that interests you, we usually run wednesday and saturday 5 pm est, and are gonna start trying sunday at 10 am est

It would probably be good for him to get in on some full group raids at some point and not just duo / trio with me. Skeletons w/ opt would likely go a bit faster and smoother :D

On Thrane, The Silver Legion runs M/W/F at 9pm Eastern

Very welcoming to new raiders as well as takes to time to explain how everything goes.

@Bjond and @Swivven can give more comprehensive details.

Heya Loki -- thanks for the nod.

The days are Tue & Friday, but the rest is correct.

We don't call 'em teaching raids, but we're more than OK with new raiders joining on whatever build you have (we provide all required roles).

We recognize that folks brand new to a raid or raiding in general are going to be a little overwhelmed because there can be a lot going on. We'll boil it down to a simple few do's & dont's for that raid.

You'll need to give us a "I'm new!" heads up. Thrane has so many that know the raids well these days, that we've lost the habit of explaining.

But, if you say you're new, it will wake us up and we'll talk more. A LOT more. Probably even about the raid.

On Cormyr, I usually see some public PUG Raids w/ open spots on Wed/Saturday evenings. Most people are helpful enough to explain/help new raiders with guidance. I have ran into quite a few people lately who are new to raiding. The more, the merrier!
