Has anyone ever challenged themselves to level this game without the use of any magical items, weapons, or armor? Just using plain vendor gear? A player can use story-based afflictions or supernatural conditions to create an “inability to use magic items or armor” as part of character lore.
Examples:
The “Null Brand” Curse: A sigil or scar that causes magic to fizzle around you. Magic items simply fail when you try to use them.
Anti-Magic Bloodline: You were born under a rare celestial alignment that cancels magic — all enchanted gear rejects you.
Fey Curse: A vengeful fae curses your “greedy mortal hands” — magic items slip away, rust, or refuse to bond.
Divine Punishment: A god forbids you from touching blessed or enchanted gear until you atone for a sin.
I think this would only work on Normal/Hard mode, and is a great idea for those of you who want to challenge yourselves without going into Reaper mode. How far could you go while using basic gear? I'll give it a shot.
