Good stuff! I am glad they figured it out. You know there is a looming problem with Wine, and by extension GPT. It requires Rosetta to run. Apple is phasing it out over the next two years. Everything Wine can do will stop working. The future is very uncertain.

I don't know about the developers of wine, but apple's definitely going to solve this. Their gaming market share depends on GPT.

Thanks for all your hard work on this! Is there a workaround for the `--no-quaratine` flag deprecation in brew? I assume I can remove the quarantine bit later, so mayeb no biggie?

I ran into a different error with the wine install. I am on a fresh brew install (on a fresh MBA), I ran into needing to create a tap to contain the wine cask. All this sounds very trappist.

Error: Homebrew requires casks to be in a tap, rejecting:

wine-stable.rb (/Users/me/wine-stable.rb)

To create a tap, run e.g.

brew tap-new <user|org>/<repository>

To create a cask in a tap run e.g.

brew create --cask <url> --tap=<user|org>/<repository>

Note that the GPT installation went flawlessly and the game popped up (after a really long download).
Congrats on getting the GPT version working. The main downside of that version is that Dungeon Helper doesn’t work and antialiasing is broken. But to be fair I haven't tried that option in a while. Perhaps things have changed.

I will try to find some time to retry everything from scratch and update the instructions as needed.

Thanks for everyones' work on this. I'll post what I find back to this thread. I don't use DungeonHelper as I don't dual box.

I don't use Dungeon Helper either but I just tested the rest.

By GPT 3.0-2 Antialiasing is still broken but DX11 works which wine doesn't support. Water looks very good in the game with GPT.

A little bit of update...
  • Antialiasing is almost fixed in Game Porting Toolkit 3.0-3.
  • Game Porting Toolkit 4 is out, hopefully it will be available in Homebrew soon.
  • As of September 2026 with the release of MacOS 27 Golden Gate, Intel CPUs are not supported anymore by Apple which means the old Homebrew (located in /usr/local/) stopped working. Updating to the Apple Silicon version is easy, seamless and safe. I had zero issues. Follow the instructions here: https://medium.com/@ravi.mba.techie...silicon-macs-in-a-simple-5-steps-3e545576dab5
  • Homebrew has an official GUI called Homebrew.app. To install type the following into the terminal:
    Code:
    brew install --cask homebrew-app
