Manually turning monk stances on

I have noticed that, for at least the past couple of patches, every time I log onto my monk, I am having to manually turn my ocean stance and meditation of war back on.

Is it just me?

[update] Following the advice of J1ng, I checked my monk's weight. Over the past number of months, Leesun became quite the mule and after reorganizing inventory loot with some of my other toons, the stance issue was resolved. Inventory weight has always been such an inconsequencial thing that I overlooked it XD
For the other people in this thread having similar issues, try clearing out your inventory.

my dwarf monk has had this issue for as long as i can remember. My halfling monk doesn't have this issue.

I can do things others can't...
You probably have temporary or added strength buffs (that are counted and added on after you load in) that put you over the weight limit of what you have on your character into the Medium or Heavy category which will uncentre you and switch off all Monk Elemental Stances.

Try removing most of the gear temporarily and then relog, restart and see if it still happens. If no longer, then you have your answer. If still happening, please provide race and class setup. Will try and replicate it to see what might be off and causing that to happen.

My monk has been an aasimar scourge since the start of the year but only recently have I had this issue. I don't recall having the issue when Leesun was rolled as a human.

not the case for mine, as they both have minimal inventories with such a tiny weight compared to what they can carry

It was indeed an issue of weight. My main had become a mule and I didn't even realize it. Feel a bit silly overlooking this.

It started doing that constantly for me after the new expansion came out. Always have to check to see if the stances are on when I log in. Its annoying. No matter what anyone says about too much weight or whatever, it wasnt that way before the expansion. Its a bug.

Did you have Racial Completionist previously that was lost after Duegar was released? And thus lost the stat points from Racial Completionist? That could explain why you suddenly experienced it after the release of the Expansion.

If not and you tried removing everything first, then please provide your character details, can try and replicate it to see what might be the cause.

Definitely a weight and loading issue for me. When my screen first pops up, my UI is all scattered, then it snaps into place. At the same time, my buff bar populates, seemingly before my worn gear, but after my inventory.

If I have been inconsiderate to future me, and not ended my last play session by cleaning out the junk, and organizing stuff to hit the ground running, my loot hoarding toon is always stanceless upon log in.

Fun part is seeing how deep into the dungeon I can get before noticing 🙀

I have a similar and different problem.

My halfling Monk has to turn her Air stance on every time I log her in. This might be due to a strength/uncentering issue. Her Slow Fall, however, is showing as being on every time I log in but it isn't. I have to turn it off and back on for the Slow Fall to actually work.

My Aasimar monk's Water stance is also off when I log in so I have to turn that on, too. So there might be an uncentering issue there as well. BUT while his Slow Fall shows as being on, it actually is. I do not have to turn it off and back on for it to work. If I do turn it off, I fall at the normal rate so I don't have Feather Fall from another source.

My Stances sometimes Turn off as well but heres the thing..... My character has enough strength to not become uncentered with how full my inventory is....
