Max Attack Speed Summary?

I'm aware my thrower caps out attack speed at c. 86 attacks per minute.

I can't see anything, but is there a reference/summary for other builds as to what the max may be expected to be?

e.g. other ranged styles: bows, x-bows, etc., melee styles: THF, SWF, wraps, etc., and any equivalent guidance for spells too.

If not, can we build something?

I don't think melee builds can hit an animation cap. Casters are always limited by the UCD which i think is 1 sec. Xbows used to be 86 but i forget if and what they slowed down to. Not sure about bows but they're pretty slow so I'm guessing same as melee

The animation cap for melee is 3.85 attacks per sec, or roughly around there. It is no longer attainable as it required madstone + vistani + swf + haste boost + animation cancel spam.
Thanks. So what is attainable today then, and how does THF/TWF/SWF/Wraps compare?

3.85x60 = 231. No wonder it was nerfed! 😮

@Monkey_Archer did some amazing attack/animation speed calculations in a thread on the original forums.

I don't remember what they were, though.

Maybe he can chime in?

SWF twitch fighting is still the closest, twitch isnt as fast as old animation cancel, but its still pretty close to the cap.
SWF twitching if done perfectly (via macro) is ~ 20 animations off the cap at 205 from my testing

That chart is pre-patience numbers, but is very accurate for standing still hitting . You'll have to scale them accordingly for patience (additive -10% except unarmed is multiplicative)

Those numbers are still accurate (within margin of counting error), but as Teth already mentioned, reaching the attack speed cap requires all the extra attack speed bonuses and twitchy spam. Those numbers are just basic standing attack speed.

Awesome data to have put together. For swf in particular were these counting animations or hits/misses, and if the later was it just with nothing in the offhand?

Some lesser know aspects of attack speed for melee would also include some of the faster attack animations, which when used, have a net positive on the amount of attacks done over time. These include attacks like Sunder with Monk Unarmed attacks, Whirlwind with Quarterstaff attacks, and Tabaxi Cat Scratch with standard Single Weapon Fighting and Two-Handed Fighting. This can range from adding a few attacks per minute (like with Sunder on Monk Unarmed) up to about an extra 30 attacks per minute (Quarterstaff repeatedly using Whirlwind Attack, Sacred Fist Exalted Whirlwind, and Quick Cutter).

Casters are slower than 60 a min as it takes a full second to go around, then some parts of a second to be considered free.
Also, a lot of spells have animations that last longer than the global cooldown of 1 second.
That is as a human user without macro's of any sort.
Perhaps some folks with macro's could tell what their max attacks/animations are.
