Ah nice yep that'll start working for sure. Probably close to no-fail on many enemies in older level 30-32 content.

Yea ignition will always be the go-to for trash. Salt+double para is fantastic, and coupled with the golden age shield guardbreaking means stuff is fairly locked down. They start to slloooowly swing, then guardbroken. They start to slloooowly swing, then guardbroken. etcetcetc

But -35 PRR debuff makes dino or undying better for bosses, unless someone else has it. Then I also have a shattered device/ooze throwing axe on an alt. Stuff goes down pretty fast with 20 vuln stacks and -45 prr.

Yea 20 comp resistances is good, and the highest out there, but you can get 15 on the crownblade armors or vecna gauntlets. 5% profane elec/fire absorb is unique, can't get that anywhere else I think, but the para and 10d440 proc are better. More often than not when you really need fire/elec absorb you'll be fighting a boss anyway so you'll have a different sword equipped.

Discord message is probably best, even if I'm not on it super often it's the best place, or here. I don't even do consults with my normal work let alone DDO heh heh.

Quick update, as I've been asked what I now run a few times! Also updated the 2nd reserved post, which I made as I figured I'd modify things at some point, but didn't want to edit the original post as I know people do refer back to it sometimes. The original build will still absolutely work, and will be slightly higher DPS, but I have been getting into soloing reaper raids so I wanted something a bit tankier. Plus I typically run 6 accounts at the moment so tankier>DPS in this situation.

So, currently I'm running
41 Knight of the Chalice (smites, cleaves, trance, all tier 5, strength, 1pt divine sacrifice)
31 Sacred Defender (AC stuff, str/con, PRR/MRR, I skipped +to saves as it was superfluous)
11 Vistani (haste boost, deflect arrows, doublestrike)
19 Aasimar (bastard sword prof)

and

37 Unyielding Sentinel (mantle, renewal, shield toss, all of T5 except res SLA)
24 Fury (rage heals, quick cutter, primal scream)
22 Divine Crusader (MM immunity, auto consecrate)

Feats are Imp Shield Bash, Tower Prof, 3x Shield Mast, IC:S, Quicken, Patience, Overwhelming Crit, Eerie Aim, Epic Fort, Precision
You can probably swallow a 1 vs disint occasionally but not always. It's a must IMO if a tank.

Destiny Feats Perfect Shield Mast, Doublestrike, Deific Warding, 2H Specialty, Elusive Target.
Without T5 DC, embodiment of law isn't fantastic.

I don't really use rage healing much anymore, as I run with a bard alt that takes care of most healing, plus lay on hands and renewal are enough, then the +10k temp HP if **** hits the fan. With mid 450s amp and good defenses, a little goes a long way. Once every 30 seconds with primal is plenty, it's still nice to have a heal for stat damage as well.

Typical stats in reaper (including positive energy infusion/Epic Mage Armor T5 macro and Bard Song from other accounts, yugo/prowess pots but no tensers or psionic str clickie or other stuff I rarely use). Used form of pain dark gift for +15 PRR/MRR.
7201 HP (7459 with enhanced bloodrage)
AC 434 (very noticeable difference from high 200s)
PRR 476
MRR 292
Acid/Cold/Elec/Fire Absorb 60% base, Cold/Elec/Fire 83-84% with FS/electrocution swap)
Healing Amp 458
Melee Power 346 (371 with sanctified fervor swap)
Doublestrike 93%
Damage Mod +177
Attack Mod +214
115 intim
High 500s pos spellpower
550% threat, 750% with divine righteousness, 1150% on successful intim...could get this way higher but seems sufficient)

In terms of gear, it's a mix of Sora Katra, MD and rat quest stuff.

Heavy Armor of Crownblade's Reflection with healing amp/true imperial globe and +15 artifact melee power augs (made reaper for AC boost)
Legendary Goggles of the Berserker with emerald of Arcane Empowerment, +15% AC set aug and +30 artifact MRR
Legendary Helm of the Sun's Wrath with accuracy +22, +15% AC set aug and +15% artifact doublestrike (made reaper for +2 stats, (+5 PRR curse))
Legendary Storna's Pendant with doublestrike, +5 insightful con and +30 profane MRR (+5 MRR curse)
Legendary Night Hag's Heartstone with champion's twins essence, Crystalized Unicorn's tear and +2 festive cha (True Seeing Curse)
Legendary Cloak of the Warblade with +11 protection, +2 festive con, +30 artifact fort bypass)
Legendary Agarta's Belt with damage, +14 con, +30 profane PRR)
Legendary Katra's Razor Wit with +6 riposte and 15% swiftness)
Legendary Maenya's Iron Fists with +11 resistance and +2 festive strength)
Legendary Greaves of Seasons' Warding with Dethek essence, +15% AC set aug, +30 profane healing amp)
Legendary Band of Faith and Fortress with demonheart emerald and Ravil's HP augs)
Bracers of the Battlerager (+7 ins str) with +14 natural armor, +5 insightful cha and +15 profane melee power)

You could also go with the +MRR set aug but Strahd was easier to solo than 2H2H.

Weapon/Shield combos are

Attuned Bastard Sword (deconstructor/acid aug)/Fallen Tower Shield (eye of lammania/meridian fragment) for bosses
Ignition (deconstructor/eye of mabar)/Golden Large Shield (153 pos spellpower/armored agility) for trash

Filigrees purity/touch of grace, sucker/one against many, bravery/shattered raid augs in both artifact and swords then 5 piece prowess, 4 piece shattered device.

It's a pretty big investment though, especially if going for good curses/mythic bonuses, so if casual I'd definitely go with the original build.

Has performed well. r2 Lvod, r4 DOJ, hard hunt/skeles/FOM/LOB. Working on elite FOM/hard TON at the moment. Not as tanky as a pure tank but it's a nice balance of damage and survivability. Happy Hunting!

Impressive solo list. R1 LVoD was tough enough for me lol. Did you post about the R2 somewhere? I’d def be interested to see how you dealt with the 2nd devil and Orthon phases.

Been a few years since I tried LH hunt on a tanky DPS, my issue was always that if you can’t drop him before he starts with the Snare thing it’s not going to go well lol.

Elite FOM would be cool. Tried that a few times when it first came out but never got it. Need nerves of steel to avoid that 2nd layer of debuffs most people probably don’t even know exists lol.

To me LH TON sounds awful and boring but maybe you enjoy pain lol.

Not quite solo LVOD, that's with a bard alt, loosely based on the "shelter bot" so 13 bard/6warlock/1rogue, as well as some other inq alts firing away. Self healing makes that one tough to truly solo, r1 is super impressive! I think r3-4 is probably doable with my merry band, but it's not really "solo".

LH hunt effectively was solo as the bard couldn't survive the souls long, I guess the bard song persisted though. Took probably 10-15 tries over the course of a month, there's a lot of luck involved, and a lot going on in that last fight. 10k hp button, a crafted +insightful MRR/sonic absorb ring, both dark discorporation clickie gloves before the soul waves all helped. I'll typically just run normal with ops as it's like an 8-10 min thread run.

Elite FOM I think is doable truly solo. Just a lot more HP to wade through, and lag is pretty unforgiving there.

LH TON...main issue is the bard alt can survive normal but not hard, at least not without swapping windows to check/move very regularly, compared to normal where it can just chill. Then all the HP bloat that they decided was a good idea, although the inq alts have brought that dragon time down to under 4 min on normal at least. Still an annoying raid.

Nice work! With ignition I don't find myself missing the stun much.

Self Buffed in Reaper Compared to Original Build:
PRR 386-->466
MRR 209-->282
AC 286-->398
HP 4980-->6742
Amp 226-->448
Attack 190-->210
Dam 164-->167
MP 299-->336

Doublestrike 95%-->87%
Attack Speed 35%-->5% (patience, 0 points in vanguard vs 31)
No Bring down Wrath/Law of the Divine/Beckon-->10k hp button/AOE LOH

So a bit less DPS but the tradeoff in defenses has been worth it.

Some of that change is due to a few more past lives (and Aasimar vs Tabaxi) but a lot is just the build and gearing.

LH ToN is about having enough DPS to get through phases before having to ddoor to reset stacks and then enough fire absorb/healing for the dragon fight if you are planning to melee. Maralith can’t out dmg consecrate if you have significant prr and chug cure poison pots.

whats u feeling on vanguard vs kotc after the new vamguard buff?

whats u feeling on vanguard vs kotc after the new vamguard buff?

If looking to get tankier (especially 1st life) then it might make sense to dump vistani haste boost for the +10-50 PRR/MRR shield smash boost. Not having haste boost might feel a bit gross but if grouping a lot and you end up tanking, that might be better overall. 50 PRR/MRR is a lot, won't be 100% of the time but in tougher r10 boss fights you should be able to keep it up. So something like 41 KoTC 31 SD 8 vanguard with the 2 universal points maybe in harper+inquisitive for the +2 attack.

Overall, the buffs to melee power for vanguard certainly bring it closer, or even ahead in some ways. I'll probably try it out. Just keep in mind that the shield is a relatively small % of damage due to the inherent 1 second cap on it striking, so jacking that up past ~50-60% has very diminishing benefits, we're talking probably about 2-4% more single target dps going from 60% to 100%. When using quick cutter or cleaves, the shield does nothing and even with the QC nerf that's still a good chunk of your damage.

As an uber completionist with 83 ED points, you can still pick up 3d6 bleed damage (barely, not a single point to spare) but for a 1st lifer you can really only get to 2d6. Still the best epic strike for this build, they really need to make the other ones better.

Overall, 41+31 of any of the combination of the 3 paladin trees are all very much viable.

41 SD for the tankiest option and tons of lay on hands, then 31 in either vanguard or KotC, either are good.
41 KoTC for the 3% damage capstone, heal amp, blessed purpose, then 31 vanguard for more damage or SD for extra tankiness.
41 Vanguard for more attack speed/shield goodness, then 31 KotC for energy drain immunity/greater restos/damage or SD for tankiness

If you go 41/31 vanguard/KotC (or vice versa) throwing that last 8 points in SD for the 25 PRR/MRR and extra lay on hands might be better than vistani haste boost, unless you raid a lot but are not the tank.

If you go 41 SD though, you might as well just go T5 unyielding sentinel to further boost defenses and get AOE lay on hands. Now you're basically pretty close to just being a full tank and not bringing a ton of DPS in most groups, especially on a 1st lifer. Having a lot of past lives boosts defenses a ton so you can tank a lot of stuff even without 41 SD, but if low on past lives and expected to tank, you kind of have to go all in on that.

Lots of ways to season it to taste, just depends on your goals and the groups you run with. If running r10 raids you just have to specialize a ton in your role, but that's a tiny minority of the content being run. There are always tradeoffs between tankiness and damage, I've found it fun trying to do both at a moderate level, and at the end of the day it's a game so fun is kinda important.
