Every Wednesday, one in the afternoon, head to your local McDonald's to meet and greet other RPG MMO players throughout the world.
Sit with them, introduce yourself in your game's character name.
Organize your group at McDonalds for little rules about how to speak in character and how to speak out of character.
Usually, the meeting is done all in character.
When you have something in real life to talk about, put one hand on your chest, to identify you're out of character.
If you come invisible, and only want to observe, cross your arms, so people know not to speak with you, allowing you to simply observe.
Mention here in comments the McDonalds near you where you shall meet and greet.
