So how did the testing go?I have a new theory, about to go and test it now, will report back the theory and test results later. Should give us more info to work with and any Dev to track down the issue to resolve.

Sadly I have not yet completed this test yet, as other tests came up needing more immediate attention and also ultra busy IRL. The other issue is this particular test has a requirement/condition that must be met and that has not been met yet (limited by RNG); until I get that condition to happen, I can not test this out properly to confirm. So how did the testing go?
I just levelled a build using some very old daggers with Meteoric Star Ruby slotted in different level versions, and I saw it proc every now and then also. The Meteoric Star Ruby in my ML18 Bone Crusher Q-Staff is working as expected. I slotted the Ruby several years ago.

I will update with findings once RNG gives us the test condition we need to fulfill this test.

Yes.RNG ?
Assuning ran number gen..
Well all this assumes that whats store-bought is somehow different from the looted equivalent.Yes.
The test has only two ways to test it out. One requires using DDO points to purchase Eye augments from the DDO store, but carries risk that way too that it's flawed (because not generated and just dropped in). The less troubled way is via RNG giving me the drop of one of the Eye augments in a chest; this has not happened yet, but I have every toon that runs stuff and tests to carry the appropriate setting(s) and equipment where if RNG gives me an Eye augment I can test if it's a particular mechanic/system of DDO that's at fault or not.

My 2cp on the matter... I'm betting that the proc is tied to a given level range. Be it either player, item or target. Go too far above or below that range and the item fails to prok. Stupid idea i know, but SSH has implemented systems that were no less brilliant out of shear laziness or greed before.
Edit: Such legacy systems are not known to scale well if at all, so there is also that.
Yep, was already running this, but RNG has decided not to assist here. So it remains an untested result thus far.For what is worth, Haunted Halls of Eveningstar (extended version) has a higher chance of dropping ruby eyes in the end chest.*
*higher chance as 0,1% if you're lucky.
Mine slotted from years ago doesn't work; so it's more complex than just that.It has something to do with newly slotted ruby's. My one's from a couple of years ago work fine. The new one's slotted in the last year do not proc at all. Not sure what update broke these as I don't play my melee's much, but again it is only the one's that were slotted in the last year or so that do not work. Hope that helps.
Anything with a %chance of going off may or may not work, dosn't matter what it is.Ugh, didn't know this was bugged. Just slotted an old one into a sword of the clouds and it's not working at all. GDI this sucks.
Ruby Eye of the Glacier also doesn't work. Wasted 2 kits now on this stupid nonsense that somehow isn't fixed half a year later.
Put a 2d6 cold in and it works fine. Sword of Clouds, tasty ham, greater bold trinket and draconic arms all working together. Meteoric and Glacier rubies not working at all even with everything else shut/not equipped.
