Minor artifact slots

Based on the current progression for Minor Artifact slots:

• Level 29 → 3 slots
• Levels 30–32 → 4 slots
• Levels 33–35 → 5 slots
• Levels 36–38 → 6 slots??
• Levels 39–40 → 7 slots????

Assuming the level of content increases again next year, should we expect to gain a 6th Minor Artifact slot (or another additional slot) with the next expansion?

I do not crave the 6th slot necessarily. I want to know if I can apply the reaper and mythic boosts to my existing 5slot artifacts without regretting that in a few months or not.

In theory, we'll get the next slot with level 36 gear, yes. It's inevitable that your items will be outclassed every year. The stat squish wasn't implemented to stabilize gear; on the contrary, it was implemented to give devs room to create new gear that surpasses existing gear. Basically, they introduced a constant powercreation mechanism.

Use your bonuses. You're going to have the same problem next year, and the year after, and the year after that...

And there won't be any level 40 endgame paradise.

As I said... a reaper dust and mythic dust application on artifact that may/may not become obsolete. A 1 year or even 3 old gear is normaly fine, but another filigree slot is at least 10MP/RP for most builds. And the reaper/mythic dust will expire. - I hope you understand my motivation for trying to find out.

You have until February of next year to apply the boosts. But the new xpack won't be released until summer. Nobody knows if there will be a pack before the next xpack that includes artifacts (lately, artifacts seem to be more for xpacks and raids), and if that pack will include level 36 gear. Maybe yes, maybe no. Nobody knows, and well, you have to decide if you want to apply the bonuses now and enjoy them at least until the next xpack (a whole year), or if you want to risk it and wait until February, but you risk having to apply them anyway to your current gear and barely having three months to enjoy them.

I don't think anyone can tell you: this is the right decision, because we really don't know what loot will be available. I would say, wait for the new raid and then decide. But... idk, we dont have enough information.

That's the name of the game, we farm like crazy and fills slots, augments, bonuses of curses and if we can Mythical/Repaer powders, for stuff supposed to last 2 to 4 years before becoming mostly obsolete, but no need to be sentimental about it, if those ressources are limited and cant be kept forever, there's only one solution : grind like crazy and get all the items, all the augments, and expect more than minor artefacts.
Those are great now, but not sure the filigree game will go higher, they are already way too much.

Spend more time for permanent bonuses like artefacts/sentient is a solid farming.. and hope next type of extra bonuses will be long time useful and collectable?
I agree with Lazuli on expecting and focusing more on raids, and grab everything inside.
Just.. everything.

I may be behind the times, but I thought every Minor Artifact only gets one Filigree slot? Do they get more when you reach a certain level? And how does it work if you reincarnate?

Put mythic/reaper dusts on level 28-30 gear, because when the level cap goes to 40 all the stuff you're currently wearing is sentient food and you'll never touch it again. Put it on future leveling gear to make legendary past life acquisition easier.

Level 20 -> 1 slot. That's the outlier that makes everything else questionable.

I'm not convinced we'll get any more filigree slots.

For a while now, 10 slots has been the maximum number slots for a sentient jewel in a weapon. I've seen no indication we'll ever get another slot.

If that's the case, in keeping the convention where a secondary bonus like an Insightful bonus is about half of the Enhancement bonus, the number of minor artifact filigree slots will stay around half of the number of sentient weapon filigree slots - 5.

Sentient gear is bloated. The amount of sentXP to make a maxed weapon currently is massive. Another spark is just going to make it worse. I have multiple maxed jewels, but I feel bad for anyone even the slightest bit more casual than me for the grind to just max one.
