Mount Reward for Upcoming Feywild Event

It would be very fun if the mount reward for the upcoming Feywild themed event was a Displacer Beast.

When making a turn, the animal would hold up her tentacle paws in the manner of a bicycle rider. When turning left, the animal would hold her tentacle paws out like goal posts, tilting and waving her paddles to the left. In a right turn, the animal would tilt and wave her paddles to the right. When backing up, she would keep her tentacle arms in the goal post stance but wave her paddles backward. When feather falling, she would flap her tentacle paws, paddles down, like bird wings. In the water, she would use her tentacle paws like oars.

I know the previous event had a cat mount but Displacer Beasts were added with Feywild and offer really fun animation possibilities.

Thank you for your consideration. 😺

I mean cool... but what about my Vorpal Chipmunk mount? :ROFLMAO:

Given the nature of the Feywild, a giant Chipmunk or Fox makes some sense. A giant Chipmonk or Fox pulling a Chariot would also fit. An even more obvious choice is a giant Swan, with or without Chariot.

The most obvious choice of all is a Stag mount. DDO already has the necessary wireframe and the art department already produced multiple Stag mounts for The Lord of the Rings Online.

I expect the Feywild event to loosely follow The Most Dangerous Game. At least one quest in the game already touches upon that theme.

Maybe we will also get back Quivers. However, my understanding is that hip quivers are the norm for real period archers.

flying unicorns only plz. DDO needs wings :) (y)
Pegasi? Let's stick to the game's lore, please. We don't need to invent winged unicorns.

I don't think SSG will offer unicorns again; we already have them as mounts in the current Feywild expansion and as raid drop. It would be very redundant.

I don't know if I want more flying mounts. I was excited about the carpet, but it doesn't really fly; it just hovers above the ground, but you plummet as soon as there's no ground below. It doesn't even have a feather fall effect.

If they make flying mounts, let them be flying ones. Don't let them be scammers who don't even have feather fall.

I don't think there are any official alicorns, although you can find them in homebrew and some 3pp games. But my point is that we should first have a much more common official creature, the pegasus, rather than start including rare or nonexistent creatures in the official lore.

I prefer your suggestion of the displacer beast, but I suppose a bulette or a remorhaz could be fun. The remorhaz could be very attractive, but it might cause space issues if rendered well (the same as a behir, which is visually cool); there are always people complaining about the slightly larger mounts.

I would love a stag mount as The Princess Mononoke is my favorite cartoon

As I am ever the pedant, lore-wise the plural of Pegasus is Pegasuses. Though you could just about get away with Pegases I guess ...

It's from Greek, not Latin.

I'm wondering about the undead unicorn from today's new quest in this respect ...

I'm not going to argue about grammar. I'm not a native speaker, so if native speakers say it's Pegasuses or Pegases, I'll believe you. Although I've seen it referred to as Pegasi in the manuals and in D&D Beyond, which is why I've used that term. Whether that's correct or not, I don't know.

Back to the original topic, I like the OP's suggestion of a displacer beast because it's one of the few 100% D&D monsters. It would be nice to have such an iconic creature.
