Multiple Artifacts - It's Time Already

Without even getting into how what they call artifacts in this game are NOT, it's time the Devs add a system for wearing multiple artifacts.

It's time to do something like that for minor artifacts. I saw one suggestion to make it so only one artifact worn can have filigrees installed. Not a terrible idea.

You could always go something along the GS cleansing route, where you have to grind a cleansing stone or something to activate the process.

My personal favorite is to make it Epic Feats. I think a precious feat slot or two is a solid price to pay to wear 2 or 3 artifacts.

You can wear two magic rings.
You can cleanse green steel so as to wear more than one accessory.
The artifacts are simply not the powerful.
There's no balance argument to be made in a game where people can roflstomp through r10 because of a poorly designed and unbalanced system.

I am not sure on multiple but it would be great to be able to upgrade all artifacts to the max filigree slots. Just also change the min level to match during upgrade.

While I never really liked the idea of minor artifacts when they were introduced (it just further overcomplicated the already IMO needlessly overcomplicated gear tetris in DDO), it does make sense to limit them to 1 for balance reasons now that they are in the game since they have higher stats for the min item level. The restriction allows the devs to justify making many of them more powerful than other similar min level items.

This

They have artifacts that you can wear multiples of already. They're called "named items". Artifacts are only Artifacts because they're limited to one per char.

The playerbase has shown there is little room for anything but the BIS for a given build. No one is going to invest (SXP, cards, Reaper frags, rare augs and filis, etc.) in a piece of gear they plan on eventually replacing with something better. If Artifacts could be multi-worn - even if it came at an additional opportunity cost, like having to "cleanse" them first - then they would almost always be BIS for many builds, and every non-artifact named item is DOA.

The only way this might work is if there was a way to "downgrade" them from Artifacts to blue items, with a corresponding recalculation of their stats, loss of the extra augment slots, and probably losing the more "unique" affixes some of them have. Though I suspect that such a downgrade would defeat the purpose for most artifacts. And no way Dino Bone artifacts would be eligible for downgrade. So probably not worth the time it'd take to implement and continue to support that mechanic.

They call it minor artifact for a reason.

Presumably major artifacts will be introduced at some point - my guess is level cap 40.
Could be nice to have something like minor artifact lvl 20/28, artifact lvl 29/34, major artifact lvl 35/40.
Even more, in my opinion, every artifacts should have a unique special effect.

That's a possibility, they could have minor, major and eventually greater artifacts. And throw in a new type of augment in addition to lunar/solar. SSG loves to increase jeweler kit usage lol.

Maybe. Or the other option is "major artifacts" are things like the Codex - NPC-only McGuffin tier items of power.

I don't work for SSG- I pay their bills.

I wish there was a way to "un-artifact" a minor artifact.
Like deny it filigree, but you get the other bonuses.
Examples:
I'd love to craft more dino bone accessories for flexibility.
Or easily hot swap the 2 Sided Coin as a spell Absorption item without taking off my crafted ring.
Or...I hate finally finishing my gear Tetris...I have everything covered...oh...I got a raid item that means I have to move everything around because it gives 1 more deadly and +1% Fort Bypass and a whole +2% Healing Amp!
Allowing more than 2 minor artifacts or just give us the ability to do more stuff like Dino Crafting (since Cannith Crafting seems left behind)

I like this idea. Most of the minor artifacts just aren't that powerful.

They're not even hard to get. Next time I TR a bunch of mine are sentient food.

That would also be fine. The "Perfected" items are the worst offenders where they are really good but not as good as any other minor artifacts.

No. Just no.
If there is one thing we do not need in DDO it is more powerful characters.
