Myth Drannor Drop Rates

The People's Champion
Here's the rare loot table lists. Most of what people I know dislike is the augments and artifacts rates. Different people will care about different things for loot tetris. I circled the augment that crushed my hope. In order to ditch 5 year old gearsets like Sharn's Flamecleansed on my non-meta warlock (and other caster sets on various other alts), I'd need multiples of that spell crit augment, one for each of my alts (but even if I only did one of my characters it's going to be a horrible painful grind for what's mostly a side grade on gear). It drops off a wilderness purple... so 10% normal difficulty (as wilderness doesn't have hard/elite/etc.) then it needs to roll rare loot table followed by the RNG selecting that item off the list. I'm better off pretending it doesn't exist and just sticking with prior expansion loot than getting false hope of being able to change my gearsets with it.

There's some other rare augs/etc. I'd need for other builds/playstyles to swap to MD gear, but that's the one that broke me.

Addiction is a very strong word and not one that I used.

You're right, I used the word addiction, b/c it may be true in some cases.

You used Stockholm syndrome which google describes as "a psychological concept that's used to explain certain reactions in situations like hostage situations, abuse, or other power imbalances. It's often misunderstood and complex, and some believe it's similar to trauma bonds, which are emotional attachments that develop in abusive relationships."

I feel like we already have a bunch of high functioning gear sets so there's no big crisis if the rares are rare. Loot is part of why people will show up to your lfms, if all of it is easy to get fewer people will be playing. Consider specifically not urgently chasing the rares.

p.s If they up the chances I'm fine with it.
Again, I don't mind some things being rare. But, the Sun and Moon system was advertised as something that could potentially replace set bonuses long term. That means, we could potentially be using this for years to come. If that is the case and no new methods of acquiring rare augments are introduced, it is going to be very difficult making some gear sets work.

As others like Sardonic have mentioned, this isn't new power. It's spending tons of resources just to maintain what we already have.

I agree with the OP. I loved the expansion at launch, now one week later I'm salty as hell. Running content at r5-10 I ransacked the artifact quests on more than one toon, ran the whole saga countless times, burned through half my shard reserves. Got a few rare things, only one of each was on my want list. I'm yet to see an artifact that isn't on a screenshot...

It's good content marred by the loot drop rate.

I would like to know if the Medium actually does drop at all in Safehold, we have run it numerous times seems to be the only item I have not seen or heard of anyone getting it so far.

Double it up, put artifacts and all sun/moon augments in the saga rewards. =)
Whatever suggestion it might be they all can be good, i just dont want to see perfect sets be easily attainable these are the type of things that we need the big spenders to grind out and use money to shortcut that grind.

In my opinion rare versions should be slightly better versions of the same item. So the 10% hp agument should be a common drop and have an 11% hp augment as the rare version. Power gamers are still going to work on getting the 11% hp augment because it's better, but it doesn't feel terrible working on your loot this way. People that hate the grind will be happy with whatever they get and be elated if they ever get the better version of the future.

This is not DDO The gathering.

The current system feels more like a punishment system than a reward system.

Essential stats should not just simply be a chase item.

The purple name chests should drop with rare drop rates.

Except us big spenders already just took our money and went home. But you don't understand basic economics (or psychology for that matter). Pull rates matter. Pull rates at or approaching zero are fine for free to play garbage games on your phone. This is not that. We've opened 500 chests. We have pulled zero artifacts. Zero.

At what point is that content worth running and "grinding?" Do you even know what a grind is? Let me help: grinding is when you run something for a guaranteed result given a specific time. This is not a grind. Back in the day, I'm sure way before you played, we had to run a raid 20 times to guarantee the list to contain a small set of the raid items. There were no timers, there was no fast forward button. You might pull the item on your 20 runs, but those odds were very low. That was a grind.
This is not a grind. This is foolishness.

Here's the rare loot table lists.

Thanks for this! I was able to complete my MD loot bingo card (google sheet).

Sometimes it's hard to grasp until I look at some real numbers, but b/c I've been tracking loot since day 1 I have a good idea. Not my first expansion.

Anyway, I've been running all sorts of stuff, so only a 1 dups, but my current totals are 33 Named + 4 Rare. The difficulty rating has spun from R1-R10, couple re-rolls, some loot boosts. But one number that I'm trying to understand better is what are the odds of a rare? On elite we have a 33% chance for named, then if my single data point holds ;), of that 33% chance you'll need to bite off .108 or 3.5% chance of rare on elite no boosts?

I don't know how rare rolls work, is it like daily dice where the rare stuff sits in the high digits or are there multiple rolls?

If it was a daily dice format, then it's probably not to far from this:
1-65 Try Again
66-73 Named 1
74-81 Named 2
82-89 Named 3
90-97 Named 4
98 Rare 1
99 Rare 2
100 Rare 3

Drop rates should be adjusted but in about six months after the top gamers jockey for position and spend many of their astral shard stores and spend more money to get more to be on top. I dont understand why this is such a hard concept to understand, patience change will come after the spending has happened.
No.

If they don’t fix drop rates, I’ll go spend my money somewhere else. Good luck funding this game by not spending any money.

This is what I would do with the loot:

1) Move the non rare augments to Randall lyric
2) Make the rare augments normal drops
3) Purple named (wilderness) 100% drop rate for non rare item
4) Artifacts to Saga reward list as well as other rare drops (they wont have mythic/reaper so there will still be enough desire to pull from chests)
Agree but at least put chance for names and chance for artifact and chance for augment on separate chances. Sharing the same behind the scenes roll is just silly and make everything ultra rare when there is a huge list to choose from.

I'm an older person with a decent career and low expenses. I've got more disposable income than the average player.

I'm not buying points to continue this madness. I will instead be spending my money on something more useful

Do they make it in purple?

My thoughts: 1. make separate rolls. 1 for rare and one for normal so you could get 2 items.
2. When raid comes… let all rare non raid items and sun/moon be able to buy for 2500 runes.

My in-laws have been pestering my wife for the past few months asking her to tell me to put more stuff on my Xmas wishlist.

Problem solved. This should be fun. Thanks!
