Myth Drannor, is it fun?

Fun? Sometimes and sometimes not. Running it a couple of times was fun. It isn't fun for grinding.

XP? Meh.

Gear? I got some boots I use, but haven't found much else that I wanted.

Many DDO quest packs are better than Myth Drannor. Every expansion is better at least to me. Artistically it is gorgeous, and I like the new monster additions. I don't regret buying it. I've enjoyed the goodies from the ultimate package. And I enjoyed the lore and setting. But I'd rather run other content at 13 or
and legendary for most lives.

Yes you can trade two weapons for the one you want.
I still have one heroic and one legendary.

Someday I’ll get two, and maybe be able to use the gear.

Unless I change builds, which is far more often than I’m finding golden age weapons.

Oh, good , they become btc, and my alts are constantly changing builds ,

Great work as always ssg.

The quests are ok once you find the quicker way to complete them, but the first time in theryre kind of a time sink, pulling lever after lever etc (and finding them). Are they fun? Depends on what you like I guess. The wilderness is way too big and to me, difficult to navigate. The quests you take arent bad to find as you get the arrow on the map to lead you in the right direction, but the walkups are another story. Hard to find at first. The roads are windy and you roam around a lot to find where they are and how to get there.

Whoever's responsible for Times Long Past should be eligible for banishment. 🙄

On a more serious note, SSG's eternal hamster-wheel of doom made (30+) content irrelevant unless you want to just raid, so everything
they crank out is really optional. Stopped buying the expansions, and won't need them so long as they're adding Archetypes and Iconics.

The quests are fine. Decent, a little too much crest finding and running back and forth.

The raid sucks. Massive bag or HP, not fun. It used to be so laggy it was borderline unplayable.

The loot is good and I love getting rid of the set bonuses, but we do not have enough Sun/Moon slots to really see much growth from Isle of Dread. We either need Sun/Moon on rings or we need more than 1 slot on a few items.

The drop rates are infuriating and farming for the loot upgrades made me hate the game and turned me into a borderline sociopath. No game should this negatively affect people's mental health the way the predatory loot practices of MD did.

I enjoy the quests, just not getting to them. The wilderness needs AT LEAST 2 more teleporters (and not "run the quest to flag for teleporter" mechanics). I do find myself running the wilderness getting explorers and hunting rares more than running the quests. I guess that's just because the wilderness is so vast.

As for loot, if it wasn't for the trade-in mechanic, I wouldn't have ANY new loot. I only have 2 legendary Fallen Age weapons and 2 Heroic Fallen Age weapons. Zero Golden Age weapons and Zero equipment. I guess I have poor RNG.

The only sun/moon augments I've gotten came from the wererats in Night Brigade (in heroic too).

I have yet to run the raid, so I cannot comment on that.

Junk, we used to do ToD back at 20 Cap and I think I remember you waiting on the Tempest Ring forever...
Was this worse than that?
Thinking so since ToD was on a 3 day timer?
I was Bacab and Zweihander back then in game. Hireling was my XP toon. (To the newer players, before reaper, alts were easier to do)

Wilderness area is WAY too big.

The dungeons are good and varied but drop rates were atrocious and a huge chunk of the playerbase dont care what improvements SSG do, the damage has been done.

I missed the ToD days because I didn't have the pack at the time but everyone kept saying it was one of the best raids in the game

Combining the golden age weapons only gets you the base item, you need to do the raid quite a bit to be able to upgrade them into something you'd use.

I’d use heroic golden age weapons if nothing but for novelty. At least for a bit.

But for sure, and upgrading them makes them btc as I alluded to. Even dumber.

If you sole reason for running a quest is getting the gear, then MD is pretty bad.

If you like the story/scenery/lore stuff it's pretty nice.

XP is middlin, it's a suitable alternative path for heroic leveling for Giant Hold IMO.

I haven't personally run a huge number of times yet, but I find it entertaining.

FWIW I completely agree with your take on sun and moon slots.

They provide some flexibility, but the lack of slots really makes them inefficient compared to sets.

Maybe doubles/rings might be considered for the L36 expansion when it comes along? 🤔
