Not at all. As an EU player I can currently play fine on Cormyr with higher ping. Not that much difference from the current 32bit servers.
Cool. Send me your address. I'm moving in with you so I would be able to play on US servers too !

Also, attention all EU players, @Owlbear has a good connection with the US servers ! Everyone, pack you things and move in with him !

Very mature response! If US servers are unplayable for you now then you'll be fine with the fresh start on the new EU server. You'll make lots of new friends there I'm sure.

To be fair AUS players have had all this time horrible pings and latency. Around 200. Would be interesting to know if its even worse on Cormyr. On the other hand Europeans have 100 - 120 atm so not great, not horrible, and will have those AUS numbers from Vegas. Latency will be a fact if at the same time dont believe in miracles like theres no lag so Vegas could be a freeze fest.

Looks like there really isnt a choice for European players if actually want to play the game, not just chat with American friends.

And what else did you expect with your "I have no problems playing in US servers therefore you are wrong" answer ?! 😆 What kind of response should people do for you ?
That's not what I said though. I never said I had no problems on US servers. You on the other hand stated it was going to be like playing a turn based strategy game... Which I don't agree on. It will be playable just like the current US servers we have had for years. There isn't a huge difference from the 32bit servers and Cormyr when you're playing from EU. Just slightly higher ping and the same lag that we have been dealing with for a lot of years already.

You appended the 'therefore' statement, if someone for EU is not having issues then it is possible the fault is other than the server location. and before you start that is not saying it is you or your computer.

And where did I say that this applies to all EU players ? 🤣
Well you're the one responding to me with a statement about it turning into a turn based strategy game and not adding the for you personally part and making this a whole discussion by avoiding and wrongly interpret everything I say. Have a good day sir and I hope you find your peace on Moonsea!

According to Rapidfox, who is a much, much, much reliable source of information this is no longer correct. It is still on the ddowiki character name page though.
It also worked as of yesterday; while prepping for transfers I deleted a bank alt and renamed a -1 character to that alt's old name. So likely just outdated info on the wiki (or there's some specific case where the rename doesn't work that I haven't personally run into).

I'll stick to guild and move to Cormyr. And roll a test toon on Moonsea to see the difference.
Then use (or not) the free 64 to 64 transfer later.

If the new servers mirror the Cormyr experience it will take 1-2 weeks for everything to settle. Add in that everybody in the game will be moving between July 9th and Aug 31st and I expect it will be hard to see the actual effects until maybe early August and then everything will become unsettled again by late August as late movers rush to get it done on time.

I'd create a character on Cormyr now and begin testing. It's the best actual performance you are likely to see until middle of September when everything finally settles for good.

a few questions about character transfer:
1. do you keep all your favor and favor rewards (like Universal trees, veteran status, etc.)? would be awkward if you transfer and then find out you can't continue with the build you are playing...
2. If you do get to keep all the favor, can you still get the first time reaching X favor on the server? for example, if i transfer a character with 900 favor and then get 100 more, do i get the first-time-bonus for 100 favor or for 1000 favor?
3. You said you get the Account Bank Shared Storage. if i transfer 3 characters from the same server, will i get the shared bank 3 times? or the first transfer "steals" the bank and the rest tranfer nothing with them? also, if i transfer from different server do i get the shared bank i had on all of them together?
4. It also doesn't look like a "packed" character will get locked. so can I "pack" a character, move some/all it's inventory to another character to be packed again and eventually get items i want multiple times in the next server?
5. Do you keep the status of your sagas and raid flags, or do you need to reflag everything?

This thread is already 27 pages long so maybe someone have already asked it but there is no way Im reading all of it to find out lol.

I am trying to understand the process for transferring a guild.

Our level 190 guild has a number of inactive players, many we know in real life, they have left DDO and may or may not return to the game.

As a guild leader I pack up my guild, guild level, my personal guild renown contribution.

When I unpack my character my level 190 guild, the new guild level will be level 40 based upon my mains contribution of renown?
Our guild ship, Volant Alcazar, which is bought with platinum is unplaceable as it requires a guild level of 150?

The amenities we paid AS for we won't be able to place?

If I am reading that correctly, that is way wrong in so many ways.

1. character storage will, I am not sure about the other but can test it with an alt account on July 9th
2. You can get the first time reward but I would expect that you start from zero
3. the pack/unpack will append the difference not duplicate
4. I would think that character inventory doesn't get packed but they advised that you pack when you are ready to transfer, not before
5. Not sure if that was mentioned, along with timers for xp boosts
