We understand that one of your key questions about Guild Renown is what happens to historically-earned Guild Renown for characters that never transfer with the guild and thus are no longer part of the guild membership on your destination world. We are also investigating options as applies more widely related to guild renown.
Please add, consider:
Guild Renown from characters no longer in the guild before transfer
Guild Renown from characters who have left and returned to a guild

Why would you wait years before unpacking?
Because I (might) not have enough character slots ! And I have no idea when I'll buy them.
Sorry to be F2P player, but Turbine/SSG prices are abysmal for me. And I can't farm 10000 DDOPoints/week.
Therefore buying new content is in priority... said the one who bought a piece of cosmetic gear on sale... But I've waited 15 years to buy this one !
I've wanted to buy this since I first opened the DDOStore in 2010. Now, 15 years later, I finally get it !
So, buying a new character slot can literally take me another 15 years. And I don't want to suddenly realise I can't /unpack the character anymore.

As for now, I need to think about how to get MD, Tavern Tales and Fall of the Night Brigade. And now Lamordia is on it's way too. 😞

I'm just choosing to live without all of them. Since they made them all with rare loot we can participate in the rare loot boycott while also not needing to worry about how to pay for them. Now is the time to focus on character slots and bank space because there is no longer content made worth buying. The game plays just fine with Venca as the last content ever made. We'll see if they want more customers enough to stop with the rare loot.

Is there a petition to sign for the boycott? Maybe a banner I could hang? T-shirt at least? What's the boycott's slogan?

Yah, I haven't bought any of those yet (I bought everything previous). The loot potions in this latest preorder were a major slap in the face. "We hear you about the rare loot. Pay us money for a stopgap 3 times."

Not saying anyone is trying nudge certain folks to quit the game, but those ransack reset pots would be perfect for that.

I have 52 toons on Orien that will be moving servers. This should be fairly straightforward as it has in the past. The only thing im still wrapping my head around is the packing and unpacking. I just want to make sure, since I am only one in my guild and have reached level over 100, that none of this gxp is lost. I am sure this will be ironed out before t-day.

You do NOT lose all the renown gained by members. If they leave "hostile" you lose 30%, if they leave "On good terms" it is 10%, in the Fridays at Four with Severlin it was stated ~ they are looking into possibly reducing the guild renown penalty during this transfer time.
I read message after message about concerns with renown loss. One essential part of the guild renown equation that I do not see popping up in the discussion -- how much guild renown will a guild gain from absorbing new members?

Server consolidations mean toons, and their guild renown, will have to end up somewhere ...

Zero. In order to join new guild you need to leave your current one. And leaving a guild means the character lost all it's renown (the guild it leaves will retain most portion of renown though), nothing to add into the new guild.

5. When things go into storage above your account's current limit that form of storage goes into an overflow state, where further things cannot be added until the limit is again reached. It isn't entirely clear yet how this will display and operate with the Unpack function, but the details of the Pack and Unpack function have not yet been announced. We're also keenly aware of the feedback about storage in general and anticipate having more to say on the subject as we get closer to the transfer date.
a quick suggestion on shared bank slots etc. transfer all shared bank items into a transfer cache, same as a TR cache, where transferred items can only be removed. then leave the actual shared storage empty so it can be used for gaming.

maybe, put a time limit on the transfer cache to prevent it from being abused as permanent storage?

We have guild mates who have passed away and others who can no longer play. I am saddened at those lost connections but at least their names were remembered in our guild and would conjure memories and laughter. It will be sad to lose those connections as another aspect of the history of the guild is lost, not just guild renown.

I have to agree with this comment. We too at Tyrs Paladium have guild mates long gone either by choice or by divine means. Fortunately we have a guild website that will keep their names & memories alive.

not just inactive... the players that have left the guild also didn't take all their reknown and wouldn't be able to transfer and give it back on the new server even if they are still active. I really hope it isn't a rebuild and you actually get the guild reknown tied with the guild.

Guild renowned tied with the guild would be a true BLESSING.

I think a guild list export to html could solve this problem.
You get a ready made single page of the current guild members to upload anywhere.
