"Guild Chest contents. It is extremely important that ALL guild chests have any items removed from them that your guild wishes to save prior to the guild leader running the /transfer pack command."

It doesn't say guild chest contents will not move with the guild, it states empty them before the guild leader runs the pack command. That implies they will not exist after the leader packs.
Cordovan said it several times that guild chests's content won't be /packed and transffered. This is exactly the reason for players to empty those chests if players want to save the items stored in guild's chests.

My point is this statement is to empty the chests before packing. If the guild and ship would still be on the 32 bit world then you could empty the chests after packing.

I'm resigning from the guild first altogether and my second will then take over the guild.
DON'T !!

That is the ONE mistake to avoid !!

That will diminish your accumulated reknown, and then instate a penalty for the remaining guild BEFORE transfer. Bad idea !!

1) Transfer leadership 2) New leader packs and transfers 3) THEN do whatever you want !!

What you can do however is AFTER your alt has taklen the Guild to where it belongs, then you will be able to do whatever you want, as that will be incapable of affecting the Guild in its new home.

Basically -- do NOT leave your guild until AFTER it has safely arrived on its new server, with its new (or old) guild leader. (Unless of course if SSG for QoL purposes were to disable the penalties for leaving one's guild to make transfers less annoying ?)

We're collapsing eight servers into four, or will there be more servers to come? If only four servers are available, how many character slots are there, now?
Twice as many?

I'm in this position due to geography and server locations. We'll go to different servers.

I'm resigning from the guild first altogether and my second will then take over the guild.

I'll then transfer "ronin", and join a different guild.

This will leave the guild intact and able to go where they wish.

My only concern is the renown the guild may lose as a result of my loss (Over the years I've earned about half the guild renown). I hope there may be a solution for this. Suspension of renown loss due to leavers for the transfer period seems a simple enough solution, no? 👍
You could transfer with your guild to their new us server and then transfer during second phase to Moonsea. This would let them keep mist if your renown. But it would put you at name disadvantage on Moonsea. Hopefully they figure out how to keep guild renown intact without every member going to new server.

So I resign leadership, transfer to new server, then leave to join new guild on that new server?

Does that work?
It is important that both guild leaders and guild members not press the "Create" button on their guild panel unless they want to overwrite and thus remove the old packed or unpacked guild information from their now-former guild. So, don't press the "Create" button until you have unpacked, unless you actually don't care whether that info comes over because you are starting fresh or whatever.

I think you misunderstood the question.

The current guild leader wants to go to Moonsea. The rest of the people in the guild and the guild itself is going to another server.

How does the current guild leader go about doing so to minimize the renown loss to the guild - which he will no longer be part of after the movement

1) leader transfers leadership.
2) new leader packs guild and transfers, then unpacks.
3) Old leader can now do whatever he wants, since he no longer affects renown on the guild on the new server.

Thats exactly what I posted earlier too but the person asking seems to want official confirmation

we intend to offer a limited period of time where characters on a 64-bit game world can transfer for free to a different 64-bit game world. This will allow players who accidentally find themselves on the “wrong world” the ability to correct their mistakehttps://www.ddo.com/news/ddo-server-transfers-2025

Any news on this? If I make a 'mistake' (in other words, if I find the world I transferred to too laggy during my playtimes), will I be able to fix 'my' mistake by transferring everything to another world? You write "where characters on a 64-bit game world can transfer", but of course that is pretty pointless if all the astral shards / shared bank increases / etc. will stay behind.

I find it extremely odd to call this 'their mistake', but OK. The main question is, how (and when) will it work?

Prior to packing the guild information, the leader should make sure an active successor is in place and then resign their leadership from the guild. The now-former guild leader should then do whatever is they want to do prior to packing and transfering.

We have both sides of this coin to sort through when it comes to your future 64-bit world destination, some players will want to correct a mistake by repacking and transfering, and some players want to be able to transfer and leave their stuff behind. We haven't sorted through the process yet. Currently, you need to Pack before you can transfer, so that's great if you made a mistake and want to correct it, but it means a further sorting of shared materials on your destination world before transferring again.

To clairfy I'm looking to:

1. Resign leadership.

2. Transfer to new server.

3. Leave old guild

4. Join new guild.

I can do 3. and 4. independently of whatever the replacement leader of the old guild does after I've done 2. Right?

I mean I don't have to wait until the old guild is re-established anywhere, once I'm on my new server. Does that work OK?

I'm concerned about limits on alts. if too many people in devs opinion are going to a server and I have moved my main but I'm missing bank toons am I just screwed?

They are going to open transfers between 64bit servers. You'll have a chance to gather everyone on one server.
But, for example, if you need them all on the server since it's the server your guild has transferred to, guess yes, you are screwed... 😅
