We are adjusting the launch date for our new 64-bit game worlds and free transfers, and we now expect to begin transfers to our new 64-bit game worlds and Cormyr on Tuesday, July 15th. We expect to have more information on packing and transfers tomorrow.

Translation: This is a soup sandwich, we achieved new levels of "broken" and can't figure logistics out, expect more issues,
possibly a rollback or seven, losing random gear, and a fire that sounds like a thousand dying hamsters playing bagpipes.

So, working as intended, just like U37 filigree. 🤪
Optimism!

Read through all 50 pages, don't see the answers I was looking for.

Cordovan we understand that the plan may change, but for the info you currently have please answer/confirm the following:
• Will transfers begin on Tuesday the 15th or Wednesday the 16th?
• Will transfers begin the same day as weekly maintenance, or the day before? Meaning are you moving maintenance to Tuesday?
• Can you give us a rough estimate of the time of day that the transfers will be commencing? Some people have posted taking the day off work, and an answer will help them plan accordingly and save everyone some aggravation.

Many thanks

The post in the news https://www.ddo.com/news/ddo-server-transfers-2025
says "On Wednesday, July 15th" but Wednesday is actually July 16th.

So is it happening on Tuesday July 15th or Wednesday July 16th???

The official announcement at
https://www.ddo.com/news/ddo-server-transfers-2025
reads:

What’s happening:

On Wednesday, July 15th when the worlds open from our weekly maintenance, three new 64-bit game worlds will be available, with two of the new worlds located in the United States and one world located in Europe.
July 15 is a Tuesday.

So, what will it be:
  1. Weekly maintenance on Tuesday, July 15, and new servers available after that?
  2. Weekly maintenance on Wednesday, July 16, and new servers on Tuesday, July 15? What time?
  3. Weekly maintenance on Wednesday, July 16, and new servers available after that?
Clarification requested.

Lol. This was inevitable. And not good for costumer confidence.

However, i really do NOT want ssg to rush this. Take all the time you need. We can play 32bit for a bit longer.
I am not sure we actually can. I am guessing their contract ends 31st of August and they don't want to renew it.

No... it would be good to see SSG fail on such a large scale. Then be forced to publicly walk back changes player didn't ask for or want.

SSG needs a big slice of humble pie to remind them that they work for us, not a bunch of investors.

THE DDO TEAM LITERALLY TAKES US FOR GRANTED.

They think this is something to blow-off and not the single most important event for the game.

THIS IS INSANE.

Before you said that it would occur after an update.

Is the update now scheduled on a Tuesday in lieu of Wednesday that week?

They don't work for you. They produce a product that you can choose to purchase. You can also choose not to purchase said product. Hope this helps.

NO, I do not accept this, and neither should you.

To accept this is to accept over monetization
via option-creep. Which over time seeks to make everything more expensive by introducing more and more for profit systems.

This is the same idea behind most US car / truck manufacturers, and compared to what was avalible just a decade ago, their hot garbage. Sure we don't have to buy this vehicle, but when the entire market is like this and your despite for a ride, their really isn't much of a choice. SSG is slowly stearing the game in this direction. With everything becoming optional at a cost.

Last time I checked, online gaming was suposed to be "fun". Not the overly convoluted micro-transaction dystopia we have today.

.... costumer confidence.

....

*off topic reminisce...*

This reminded me of a local shop a handful of years back. They opened their shop with a big fancy sign made for the building frontage. They were setting up to do vehicle sound systems.

Their big fancy (and probably expensive) sign read, "Costume Audio" (vs 'Custom Audio')

It was there for almost a month before it suddenly disappeared. :D

-----------

On topic: Trust, folks, if THEY see something amiss already you definitely want them holding off. There will be plenty of unseen ***** (okay phooberry?) waiting to drop on transfer day.

#LOTROPTSD! :D

(Clarification of the actual date is needed, tho.)
