There is the mistake, they do not work for us. I have owned businesses, I worked for me, not the customer.

Probably main reasons not to do this are:
1) Updates and patches would be done in EU server first (pro and cobs to this)
2) Everyone heading to moonsea while everything else is down.

But you forget that your customers get to dictate your success. If they feel that your business value is lacking, you'll soon enough find out, and so will your competitors.
I agree with that but I don't work for them. I have to provide a product/service at a quality and price that customers are willing to pay.

So does SSG... To which, I see they're full of fail. Which else would they alter the drop rates (marginally) if the pre-orders were doing so well?
Things always get adjusted. It could be they monitored how many have acquired them and found it to be less than intended. We don't know why and they are not obligated to tell us.
Now I need to get in game and see if they is anything I can do in advance to mitigate this schedule change.

We're not sure if it is the 15th or 16th yet. Seems unlikely that the transfers start before maintenance on the 16th.

Unlikely, yes. Impossible, no.
If you asked me if I ever had to delay a deployment with 7 days notice and I said no then I would be lying. I don't know why they had to delay. The bigger issue is being this close to the end of the DC lease but I don't know the drivers for that either.
How many people do you think are going after elminster or gandalph or pollmaker?

All my enemies know who I play, they will climb mountains and blow up Mars in order to deny my 'Elminster of Shadowdale (server)' moniker.
I would somehow be on the servers seconds prior to them actually going online to have a small possiblity of getting my names. I know some of you are so deranged, you're traveling to Vegas to setup your comps next to the servers just so you can deny me of my prize.
