There really does have to be a better name than Oerik. How about resurrecting one of the old pre-F2P servers that got merged out? Mabar, Fernia, Adar, Xoriat would all be better.

Or since the plan seems to be to name one server after each major D&D Campaign world, and you want to keep a Greyhawk named server, there's plenty of choices there as well - Blackmoor, Greysmere, Wintershiven, Irongate, Magepoint, Spinecastle...
Gygax!

So it is very likely that most guilds that are at level 200 will start at some level lower than that once the transfers are complete. My guild is over 15 years old and most renown was earned by players who no longer play. Is this intended???? Not a good look if so.
100% this. Our old guild leader no longer plays and was a farming beast. My guild reknown contribution pales in comparison even as the new guild leader. Our guild is very small and this will cripple us.

Hi Cordovan, I've been reading the full 8 pages thread and some people have the sale curiosity or better said concern about shared account ítems (crafting storage, platinum, ítems) and also character slots; in my case I've got 8 on each Orien and Khyber only, how will this process work, how many available slots are we getting in the new 64 bits servers? I think it's unfair having to pay AGAIN for something we already paid and unlocked in the soon-to-be-deprecated 32 bits servers...

If you can contact your guild leader, reach out to them and see if they can help with the transfer, or give you their login credentials.

You can take steps on this front now, assuming your old guild leader designated a replacement. Have the replacement usurp command and kick the old leader out, if they have been inactive for a long time, you won't lose any Guild standing.

Inactive Leadership

Usurping a guild
This seniority becomes important in the event that the Leader no longer wishes to be Leader, or is no longer actively filling that role.

If the Leader resigns or quits the Guild, the Successor becomes Leader. If no Successor has been designated, any Officer can become Leader - first come, first served.

Also, if the Leader has been inactive for 60 days...

  • The designated Successor can become Guild Leader.
  • If there is no (active) Successor [Successor has been inactive for 60 days], any Officer can choose the "Usurp" option (see image, right) and become Guild Leader (as above). First come, first served.
  • If the previously inactive Leader or designated Successor returns at a later time, there is no recourse except normal social interaction (aka "asking nicely").

I would expect it would follow the standard penalty for people leaving the guild. We need clarification on this

When kicking out an inactive member, you receive:

  • Full Penalty: Member was inactive for less than 1 month.
  • Reduced Penalty: Member was inactive for 1 month or more, but less than 6 months.
  • No Penalty: Member was inactive for 6 months or more.

It would not be hard to distribute guild chest contents among the guild members
There is only one - me, myself and I. And I don't have enough characters/free space to save everything.
Guess, it would be possible to go around with create new character - give him stuff - transfer - delete character - repeat, but I don't know whether I'd take that path. The whole transfer process is already looks tedious enough.

Sorry to heat that. I'm not going to patronise you in trying to offer any advice when I've not lived your experience. I hope it works out ok for you and everyone. I'm also hopeful it broadly will. 👍
All good for real. I'll post up our new server in guild chat and hope for the best. I have few unused character slots and tons of stuff I can easily unload from mules to make room for guild chest stuff.

I am the guild leader with a few active members and some that are not on for months at a time.

Hoping for the best for all of us.

Read again. I AM the new guild leader. He sent me a message on the old forums years ago saying he was giving me leadership. I don't think he is ever planning on returning.

Hopefully, but the wording of our reknown coming with our characters makes it sound like it is more serious than that.

Are there any plans to sell or add additional character slots so people that have a lot of characters spread over multiple servers can have them all on a new server?

Just as a general observation - This transfer process is going to be perilous. We've been given nearly a full month to prepare for it.

TAKE STEPS NOW.

Reach out to old friends/members/leaders. Ask if they can help with anything they can help with, and also let them know this is happening because maybe they aren't gone forever and will want to get their own ducks in a row so they aren't left hanging by the late stage transfer - or come back in a few years to find all their old characters are gone forever.

Consolidate your alts and their items. Worried about storage capacity in the shared bank from multiple servers? Shrink it now. Do you really need 8 stacks of 500 kobold prayer beads in shared crafting? Probably not. Dump some. Pick up some Green bags from 12 Favor and stuff them with crafting storage items so the shared bank isn't as full.

Prepare your guild. Inactive leadership should be replaced and kicked. Old members should be removed so you don't lose standing. Empty out your guild chests onto mules. Write down your airship floorplan so you can reconstruct your amenity locations right away.

Empty your reincarnation cache (I know it's supposed to transfer, but why chance it?).

Don't assume that everything will be smooth. Don't lay everything at the feet of SSG. You can be very proactive right now to prepare for this and make it as pain free as possible.

172 posts in and nobody's asked about first-time server favor rewards? This surprises me. But I guess that means I'm nominated.

"So, if we transfer to the new server, I assume that means that the first-time rewards will be obliterated, right? So make sure to run to 100 for the easy DDOP first, folks!"

You have 4 new servers. If you are currently on multiple server you can go to multiple server if one server died not have enough room. Asking for say 100 slots on 1 server does not sound real

Based off moving from Khyber to Argo. I had characters with a ton of favor already but since I'd have never claimed first times on Argo, once I TR'd I got them.

Didn't seem necessary to ask...just like with a Hardcore League, these are all (barring Cormyr) brand new servers and the usual rules about first time benefits will apply.

I guess it's possible that if you move an existing character with 5000 favor will mean that the game will perceive you to have already obtained the first time rewards up to that point and not give them.
