New builds sharing website

Hey everyone :)

I have been working in the past few weeks on a website: ddobuildhub.com

It was made for sharing builds, with the thought of being able to easily search for specific builds by tags or requirements.
You are able to import builds from ddobuilder ( .DDOBuild files ) to fill out the whole build, so its very quick to upload.

The hope is that this becomes the default place to upload a build, and as the site grows and I add more things, it will be really easy to search and filter to find builds that are exactly for your needs. For example, searching for an Eladrin ranger build, made for leveling, but is also a first lifer, and more.

It doesn't have any ads / payments, so it's completely free. I would love for you to try it, and of course I'm going to continue working on it and adding more stuff as time goes on based on feedback.

Hope to see some of your builds there ^^

While it sounds like a great idea on paper, will someone be giving builds on here at least a reasonable pass?

Or maybe some sort of rating system with forum-reputable build folks giving them ratings?

Hate to see a new player think he's found some awesome Int-Barbarian build or something.

I think the ability to like or vote or thumbs up a build by people to give them a rating is good. I don't support a Downvote or thumbs down kind of feature, but being able to heart or favorite or like a build to indicate its popularity and standing would be a great way to help people know at a glance if a build is good or not.
Awesome website and feature though. Can't wait to see it become popular.

Yes, a site like this would be great, especially since nobody here seems to post new builds very often, and they defintely dont post top tier builds. Good luck with the site, I'll definately check it out when finished.

'Class', 'Life Type', and 'Play Stage' filters seem to be set (I would say incorrectly) to 'And' rather than 'Or' so if you select multiple it only shows those that have all the selected classes, not those that have any of the selected classes.

For example:
if you select Rogue, Ranger, Wizard, Warlock, it will display 0 builds
if you select Warlock it currently shows 1

'Race' and 'Alignment' Filter looks to be set (I would say correctly) to 'Or' allowing you to see multiple selected options at once.

If this is intended, I would suggest a toggle option to switch each filter type between 'Any' and 'All'

This is looking great! @Maetrim of Cannith would be proud.

I do like how it auto picks up everything from the builder - is info being scraped from the builder?

You ripping on the INT barb mate?

Well, no one sane will post top tier builds, because that is like u painting "nerf" target on forehead. Historically proven already.

Hey, yeah I have already gotten the same exact feedback, and I agree. I will add a button that will allow you to toggle between the OR / AND for relevant filters

It is currently manually taken from the ddobuilder, when it is updated I will also need to manually update

Please add a way to create an account other than using google. Personally, I would prefer to just be able to create an account directly on the website. Thank you

Like I suggested a while ago, SSG should support player-made builds by introducing an interface for build files created by players. There could be a kind of library, and your builds would appear in the character creation – click one, and it works similar to the premade builds SSG already gives us there. Then you only have to go to the class trainer, and on leveling up you just take the option to follow your path – or you decide to deviate from it.

This way players could share their builds with each other, and especially new players would have a much bigger selection of different builds, including multiclass builds (a special trainer would be need for that). Ideally this could also support the enhancement selection, in case you want to follow a certain path exactly. And furthermore, even if you only want to play your own builds, you could preserve them for later use. As an additional wish, it would be nice if you could also preserve a character's appearance selection – in case you want to build an exact twin of a character you enjoyed playing.

I think that thumbs up are meaningless without the ability to also do thumbs down!

While in therory this all sounds nice. The reality will be that SSG will use it for targeted nerfs against popular builds.

If a build is actually so good that it turns into the only reasonable way to play DDO, it's actually good if SSG nerfs it – no matter how SSG becomes aware of the issue. Because of this, it isn't actually a counter-argument; it even speaks in favor of such a system that it potentially helps SSG with game balance.

Looks great! Can you put in a Tier list (look at maxroll.gg). I dont want to run with an INT-barb on R10s!
