New builds sharing website

If a build is actually so good that it turns into the only reasonable way to play DDO, it's actually good if SSG nerfs it – no matter how SSG becomes aware of the issue. Because of this, it isn't actually a counter-argument; it even speaks in favor of such a system that it potentially helps SSG with game balance.
If, as how you put it, there is exactly 1 (=only) build out there to play DDO in a decent way, it is not that one build that needs a change but the overal architectural design of the numbers system. Once that has been addressed, proven by a vast number of builds being viable and more then a handful are actually thriving, only then SSG should reconsider the outliers that are over performing.

Having 1 as your baseline where there are so many options, is not something I'd go for.

Otherwise we'd go back to heroic gianthold times when the raid was half decently doable with a multishot/10k stars ranger.
And once that was gone, the raid kinda became select personal only.

Added a bunch of stuff: tree visualization, more filters, recreating a .DDOBuild file from the builds on the site ( the builds need to be configured correctly for the recreated file to work ), sign up option with username + password, able to follow build creators and more.
My account is still new in the forums, so its a bit hard for me to respond to everything in time ( dont know when this comment will show up :) )
Edit: it seems it is no longer flagged for inspection all the time, so can respond normally :)

Yes, a site like this would be great, especially since nobody here seems to post new builds very often, and they defintely dont post top tier builds. Good luck with the site, I'll definately check it out when finished.
I feel like posting builds used to happen a lot more than I see now. Maybe folks are afraid of the nerf hammer?

Found a bug. The website is listing Cleric levels for my Morninglord build as Acolyte of the Skin levels instead. I clicked edit, but on the backend it shows them as Cleric levels, so I can't fix it from my end.
Wow, thanks for sending this to me. I went ahead and fixed the bug, you should now be able to just open the edit page and press save changes, and it should show the correct leveling path with Cleric.

potentially helps SSG with game balance.
That would require two things to be true:
1. That the fine folks at SSG understood and cared about game balance.
2. That the DDO player base understood and cared about game balance.

Neither 1 nor 2 are true things though.

If SSG dont know what the top builds are without our saying, then they have zero clue what they are doing.

I might be wrong, but I think the complexity of balancing a game like DDO is easy to underestimate – there are so many interacting systems that a change in one place ripples through five others. That's why, even though I unfortunately find plenty to criticize myself, I do think the developers are doing a great job overall.

Which is why the solution is frequent small changes. That way nothing breaks.

But there is no direct money in it. Just the risk that people give up and go to other games.
