so that why you guys took so long to fix lag bc you where doing new coffer now it all make sense

before all forum paladin's will lynch me i get that some1 other do coffer's and some other do lag's fix but after 2 weeks of horrible lag they could atleast give some compensation and i dont mean free items but atleast good event with exp or something ( not buddy bonus bc it lag even more )

8k DDO points for ghost rider without the bike is just not worth it to me.

Forum Paladin here, they are not giving anything, you have to buy it. So it is more like paying someone to spit in your face. If you are not into that then maybe don't pay for it? Although the tears from all the crying blend in nicely with the spit so... to each their own.

You've got to admit that following up "Hey guys, we made a new server where you have to lose all your progress and pay us for the privelege and the performance is marginally better at best" with "Hey guys, want to chuck 80 bucks at 4 cosmetics?" is actually in some smallway very funny.

Edit: I see WoW is currently selling the rare mount from 4 expansions ago that you can't get in game anymore for £60 so maybe this isn't exclusively a DDO thing.

Edit again: Wow, third £80 cosmetics pack in 12 months huh?

Like people consider Gacha games "predatory" in that they encourage you to keep trying to pull the characters you want but if you'd spent £240 on genshin impact in the space of 12 months you'd have so many full constellation 5 star characters.

DDO's drip feeding of bank/inventory space alongside cosmetics for hilarious amounts of money is something only the most ardent (and hopefully well off - I'd hate to see a DDO addict spending their rent money on this tripe) whales could accept imo. I'm glad I didn't acquiese to my urge to play again this week, SSG is abusing the game's most die-hard fans.

SSG's content creation team also isn't the same team working on the game code and the servers trying to fix the lag. Good luck telling that to the average person on this forum though. I've come to conclusion that most people aren't capable of or willing to understand this.

Yes, and it's presumably because they didn't want to take engineering away from the important problems (64-bit and the lag) to make it possible to have them be separate rather than a single model. It's disappointing for something so expensive but it's understandable and the whales will buy it regardless.

Yep, pretty much this, we all knew a new patron coffer was coming at this time of the year.
Also, a lot of people have been asking for more cosmetics to spend their points/money on. So there.

I do agree that bundling together the totally superfluous (cosmetics) and the critically needed (bank storage space) is somewhat sleazy.
But it's a matter of perspective too : are you buying bank space and getting bonus cosmetics, or buying cosmetics and getting bonus bank space?

Anyway I would like SSG to experiment with selling those virtual goods separately, perhaps they can attempt that with the various components of a previous patron pack when it goes on sale next time.

Well I think that's rather because the greenish necro aura would look silly if it engulfed only the head or the body, so the choice was for aesthetic reasons, to keep the whole-body effect.
