New expansion editions

It might be a bit early or even too late, but could we have a collector's edition that is worth buying? The collector's editions for the last few expansions were underwhelming at best - rather than upgrading to the Ultimate version, I down graded Vecna to the lowest tier and didn't even bother with MD (I may get the standard version when/if it comes on sale).

I understand that you want people to buy the ultimate version, but you are losing potential sales from me.

The hirelings are usually situationally useful
I'm going to tell you a story. Back in the day I used to run some quests just for favor.

One day I decide to run "from beyond the grave"(lv 13 quest on elite), you know, the one where you have to protect the gate of the graveyard from zombies tryong to get out? I open my hireling folder and decide to pop the lv 20 panther (MoD ultimate pack), both owlbears (Lv 17 and 25 from Shadowfail ultimate pack) plus a capped healing hire just because. No team could ever match such might and I'm including the avengers and justice league (and the owlbear is THICC, take that wonder woman). I enter the quest and summon the supreme team radiating pure awesomeness thanks to my 3 druide lives, move just a little bit to make sure they are alive and park them all in aggressive mode in fron of the gate. I go on doing some menial graveyard maintenance while the godly pillars of justice hold the gate but what's this?

All of a sudden a most nefarious message pops up as if conjured by asmodeus himself. Quest failed? How can it be? What blasphemy? Such lunacy to imply failure was even an option! It's obviously a bug, I retrace my steps to the front gate to bear witness of whatever horror the server decided to insult me with. No, it can't be! My proud companions are barely doing anything at all.

The lv 25 Owlbear and the lv 20 panther need to gang up on a single zombie just to barely kill it? The lv 17 owlbear charging another zombie to challenge it into a stare contest while the cleric had its very soul spirited away leaving nothing but an empty shell standing in place?? It can't be. My heart broken and my mind shattered by the money I invested in power that be to bestow me strenght beyond strenght.

NEVER AGAIN! I shouted and never again I gave those flickle eldritch beings called devs my wages.

I did buy a couple of basic expansions and some points though. I hope you liked my story.

There's good stuff in all the editions, but not $80/120 stuff. The xpacs are all vastly overpriced. Even $40 is too much for something they're pushing out every year lol. Other games might do one expansion every few years if that

Yes pls. Feel forced to buy Teleport Clicky edition after they successfully made you feel the pain lacking it in Ravenloft.

Whilst I agree that the heroic hirelings can be useful. The difference in the cost between the Standard and Collector's editions is not value for money for me. I do not feel the extras (character slot, heroic hireling & archtype) are worth c$40; I have little interest in the additional mount and cosmetic fluff.

I usually throw out all cosmetics, mounts, pets and hirelings from the ultimate pack. Then add up the point value of the rest. If I can get around half the value of the ultimate pack, I can justify it with the rest paying for the content itself.

I would like to see them offer an alternate package option where we can take out all that fluff stuff, basically what I listed above, and sub in stuff that I would actually use, like XP pots, Slayer Pots, Ability Tomes. Something, anything, other than another suitcase of stuff that will remain in storage forever.

Assign some value you think the fluff is and make that value available in actual usable goods. Hell, I would take 80% of its value.

The only reason the bulk of people buy the top tier edition is for 10 character bank space and 10 shared bank space. We know it. SSG know it. Its a huge money earner for them.

The sensible people wont even buy the basic edition because until the playerbase hide their wallet, SSG simply wont change.

Well at least all the new cosmetics are claimable and you don't have to store them anymore...

First rule of SSG "bundle" shenanigans, hard pass. Unless you're a serious hoarder and have every slot stuffed with mules for gear you rarely
touch, there's no reason to buy QOL and fluff. If they can't fix the things we already bought (looking at you, U37 filigrees) ... don't overpay.

Yes, I know some people are five-star packrats, but those gems are hungry. :p

Which is why I can't take them seriously when they claim that inventories are the reason players can get corrupted or buggy.
This is a Gordian knot entirely of their own making. They're creating artificial scarcity to sell the solution... rather than taking the time to design an inventory system that doesn't require infinitely expanding inventories and character slots.

I won't be buying it at all without quest teleports.
You set the bar so low you may as well not buy if they don't put at least 5 quests.

Of all the shady, back handed, anti consumer practices that SSG does that is where your draw the metaphorical line in the sand?

That's actually a real problem they should consider.
The lack of quest teleports is a pretty annoying problem. Running to What Goes Up or Key to Mythal every life is anti-fun.

I can endure a short run in the wilderness to get to "what goes up" (I unlock the teleporter every life). What grind my gears is having to go through multiple loading screens to get to IoD, Barovia, Feywild, Saltmarsh and the likes because the most logical QoL thingie that should have been the default is gated behind over 100 euros (Yes, European).

This, effectively non functional hirelings (broken product as far as I'm concerned), way too much cosmetic stuff and not enough actual goodies.

MotU had real value for the ultimate pack

Teleporter item unlockable in game via favor by EVERYONE
Challenge pack
Epic destinies
Cosmetic mask that actually had decent bonuses (+1 profane to all skills and +4 poison saves)
Monumetally long saga
Druid class
Item galore that can be bought via commendations
Greater tome of epic learning for 1 toon and a lesser one for alts (even on creation of new ones)
Supreme skill tome for 1 toon and a lesser one for alts (even on creation of new ones)

THAT was worth every penny I paid. Every other expansion was a downgrade from there.

EDIT
And yes, that worhtless panther too
