New Format for Spell Listings

The listings for the spells for each class were updated several days ago. I can see the advantages with the new format (sort by column, etc.) but I have a couple of suggestions.

1) Can you make it so there is a default sort order? Right now, each table (one for each spell level) is unsorted. I kind of like the old order where the spells were ordered by spell school, but alphabetical within each table/level works, too.

2) Can you set a minimum width for the Description column?

I'm using a 24" monitor and I usually keep the browser in a "medium sized" window (about 11" wide by about 7" tall) that works for most wiki pages and things in general. It worked fine for the old format spell listings. The new format listings in that size window force the Description into a thin column of text:

I can maximize the window to make everything fit well, but then it's so large it's a bit hard to read and take it all in, if you know what I mean:

(make this image full screen to get the effect).
Setting a minimum column width, if possible, would require some sideways scrolling to see all of the Metamagic columns, but that's not a bad trade-off since the left inch or two is lost to the wiki's menu.

Maybe it's just me, but I thought I'd ask about it.

Thanks!

Hey bookmarked,
It was me who made the changes to the table to implement dynamic listing of spells. Now if you edit the spell's description on its own page, it should change everywhere the spell is listed in a table.

Thanks for pointing out some problems.
  • The tables were default sorting by Name (column 2), it seems that adding the extra Primer column for Alchemist somehow broke it and now the name column is column 3 for some reason. This was an easy fix (already fixed).
  • I can add a minimum pixel width for the description field so it is wider. Currently it is just 60% width of page which is fine for large screens. This will force the metamagic section of the table off the right side however. This is probably the best trade-off for users on mobile devices too.
The metamagic section is bigger and that's why the description field is smaller with the new tables. I could reduce amount of whitespace but there is a min limit because the metamagics can now be sorted upon.

I might be mistaken, but I doubt many people care what metas can be put on the spells in a table view. They're "usually" pretty obv

Can maybe remove those cols?

I've made some changes to the tables there, the description field should be wider now.
Let me know if you find any more issues with it.

my primary use for the charts, dangit. (Because it should be obvious, but the exceptions are irritating traps. :<)
