New Game Freezing issue

The game freezes every few minutes when playing on my PC. The screen freezes, the audio mutes, then it unfreezes. Just started about a month ago. Updated everything and re-installed game and video drivers. Now my laptop started doing it as well. I have another laptop that does not. So its not DDO game lag. Something is causing the game to freeze up at regular intervals. Any thoughts on this? Sure would love any input, thoughts, or feelings. Also, I don't see this issue on past threads. Reddit people are blaming it on DDO lag, but if that was the case, my secondary laptop would freeze up, and it doesn't at all.

It freezes about every 70 seconds.

Is there something else in your house that is trying to play media? Something could be broken and polling all the other online devices to get any shared media much too often.

Buddy of our had this issue, Tech support advised him to open a command prompt and run a flush DNS command, which cleared it up.

Command should be:

ipconfig /flushdns

I tried ipconfig /flushdns but, alas, it did not fix it. I sure did appreciate the input. Eliminating things it isn't will eventually help us determine the cause and I can share it when it gets fixed. I looked at my task manager and it looks like the only thing that "spikes" every 70 seconds is my network. I unplugged the router and plugged it back in and it changed nothing. I'm not saying my network connection is the culprit, but its the only process I observed that had any meaningful change in the task manager.

I tried a few other games that worked without issues. Final fantasy 14 MMO and Baldur's Gate 3 and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.

Disable all firewalls, anti-virus, vpns.
It is possible one of them is blocking some API call and you get a freeze until it timeouts.
Clearly, you can try one by one and after you find which one you should go to more detailed settings until you find it.

I can do things others can't...
I had a recent issue similar to this on one of the AMD GPU machines here. The iGPU (the one on the CPU) had been enabled again (by an BIOS update) and Windows 11 installed drivers for it and enabled it after detecting it. This caused a conflict with the actual dGPU and caused freezing and crashing. It was only resolved by disabling the onboard iGPU and updating the drivers only for the dGPU.

I tried it on the lap top. It made DDO and any other game I try have a frame rate of 5-10 so it didn't work. Any other thoughts?

As of right now 11 others have let me know they are having the same issue. How many more are there that aren't saying? Things in common... windows 11, video cards GTX 3060 4060 and 5060, running on DirectX 11, 32 gig ram, SSDs greater than 50% capacity, msi motherboards, and all 12 of us running latest window and video card updates. I need a smarter person than I am to figure this out. A few of these veteran players stated this is gonna cause them to leave they game. After the failed weeks of server transfers, and now this, they are done. I don't want to see anyone leave. Someone knows how to fix it.

It could be a corrupted lib file. Try running 'sfc /scannow' from admin command prompt. You might also want to try DISM (it compares your windows files and libraries with an online version from microsoft and replaces any that are messed up with a fresh one.).

Thanks Buddha! Definitely gonna give it a try. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

I tried dozens of fixes. Nothing worked. Then after yesterdays update, the freezing in gone. Wonder what DDO did that corrected it. Not just me but everyone else as well. Noticed there was an update right before the whole issue started for us. So it must have been a DDO caused issue. I'm not surprised after 20 years fails and fixes. I just hate that I was gaslit being told that it must be my issue and not theirs. Ben, Mark, Jake, Dooks, Moe, Tater, Jeremeez, Blaster, King Mez, Stoker, Rattler, Bibo, TankleManitor, Taz, Koobs, and Tezler.... Thanks for the help. We're back!

DDO didn't have an update yesterday; u77 was delayed, yesterday was just a weekly reboot. But it's entirely possible that Windows pushed an update onto you or something else resolved somewhere. It's good that your issue is fixed, but the mystery as to why it happened in the first place is still a giant mystery.
