What did Tonquin did or do for DDO?

Let's put this way - when the level cap was increased to 34 the dev team hasn't been able to figure out how to increase the level cap of cannith crafting for 1.5 years and continue to seem stumped. When the level cap increased to 32 Tonquin included the cannith crafting update the day it was released.

This is not a system Tonquin developed, it's a system Tonquin and the current devs inherited.

To me the hallmark of a great developer is the ability to improve systems they didn't create themselves.

Ladder bug #2 (their fix for ladder bug #1), automatic fake dismount+slow down in tavern areas and crafting hall, runearm to break breakables that doesn't actually break breakables or set fire to grease (dragonkeeper, heroic only too no epic version).

Those are the bad things. They did a lot good things. The main one was COMMUNICATE. They were the most communicative dev ever and revealed a lot of behind the scene stuff ("this is ddo probably has 6 different types of evil damage"). Just for doing that, thumbs up.

It would be funny if the game creates random players AND random characters for those players. For example, a player might work 9 to 5, have 3 kids, a wife, a cat, and only play on weekends. Every so often, the cat runs across his keyboard, causing whatever character he is 'playing' to mess up really bad. I would give the players randomly generated personalities. You can meet a kid who never typed a complete word in his life. There is woman who constantly complains about her lazy husband and sucks at playing but has every perk unlocked because the MMO is her life. One guy tells everyone what to do, then gets angry when someone disobeys, but is almost always right and has awesome characters.

The real game could be about managing fake players. Make a guild. Recruit decent players with decent characters who can actually play when you do. Deal with their personal problems and scheduling issues. You would spend as much time monitoring the fake chat as doing normal game stuff.

A game about the game. There's probably a movie in this idea, too.

You know its intentional right

I choose not to even consider that because they specifically stated it's an engineering issue. If it's intentional that would be a lie and I don't even want to consider that SSG would lie to us about it.

Also what would be the reason? At end game it's rare for people to have 1 piece and even more rare to have more than 1 piece of cannith crafted gear. It's simply a way to fit in a few missing stats so why would SSG care?
