So, DDO has this thing called public groups.
It's the switch on the bottom right of the "enter quest" dialog.
When it's set to the right and the group leader enters FIRST, that means
- a LFM (looking for more) will be set up (which you can view with pressing O)
- the level ranges will be set up correctly for full "bravey bonus", aka for maximum exp
- the quest name will be selected automatically
- in a certain grace period, group join requests will be accepted automatically, if requirements are met
Hosting a group is a pain in the ass. Don't make the group leader's life more miserable as it already is.
DO NOT ENTER A QUEST BEFORE THE GROUP LEADER DOES
In the past if you had the switch to "public group" and would enter a quest before the group leader did,
the group leader would receive a dialog asking if they want the group to be listed in the LFM list.
This is currently not working and hasn't been for a few months.
So, there is no reason for you to ever enter a quest before your group leader does.
Spare them the pain of manually having to set up LFM.
Exceptions:
- The group is already full, that means 6 players, not mercenaries, players.
Since the group is full, there is no need for it to be listed in the LFM list
and you can enter first.
- The group leader doesn't care to correctly fill out the LFM window and has a generic LFM set up,
where they accept join requests manually and tell people what quest they're on or don't.
When in doubt, DO NOT ENTER A QUEST FIRST.
