Nightshield from Cover of Darkness not working?

Wondering if this may be a known bug or if I'm misunderstanding the effect of the enhancement.

Epic Destiny - Shadowdancer - Cover of Darkness enhancement, tier 3 states:
Rank 3: You gain the benefits of the Nightshield spell

I assume from that statement that it would grant immunity to Magic Missle. However, I am taking damage from Magic Missle spells until I apply Nightshield (ironically) from the Docent of Shadow clicky, which applies Nightshield.

Am I missing something? Is this a known bug?

just checking the basics - you did take all 3 ranks of cover yes?

and is it magic missle or chain missle?

i have had issues with mm immune only blocking intial hits not the splinter hits

Yes, all three ranks. Odd, but maybe chain missle is different. I will test that out. But it seems that Nightshield from the clickie will work in those instances. Still. I see if that does anything different.

Have had it happen to me too. It's rare for me but does happen. It's probably a coding issue, but it usually works.

There's occasionally bugged abilities that break on death and don't work correctly until you log out/back in. So did you die at some point before it stopped working?

Ive had this happen.
Or sometimes if I reset an ED or Enhancement Tree...even if I get the trait or ability back; I have to log off.
Or if its a toggle ability, I have to drag the icon back to my hot bar and re-start it.

Sorry, I'm just "mis-perceiving" what is happening to me. Nightshield/Shield appeart to be working as expected. Thanks for everyone's responses.
